Galveston, Texas

I'm going to Galveston from March 29th to April 3rd. It's a wife-family trip but I'm totally bringing my skates. We don't have a special schedule or anything yet so I'm posting this now. Hopefully, I can establish a date to skate to avoid issues with my inlaws.

if you have a car available to you, you should drive into houston on march 29th up to southside skatepark for thursday night skate its probably about an hour and some change from galveston

If there is I dont know about it, most if not all of the dudes who roll together in houston post on that group

John X Campbell - nah man, I haven't skated in about 10 yrs and I'm just getting back into it. I signed up for this forum to get advice on what skates I should get, im fucking clueless. Are there any good shops, street spots, etc in town you can recommend? I dont know ANYONE that skates

If you left off with Backyard Bobs dude, you should just stick to that formula. Modern K2 Fattys are pretty cheap and can be tried on at just about any Sports Authority.

Yea no problemo, I live in the clearlake area its about 45 minutes from galveston. Im pretty sucky at skating these days, I usually get in one session a week if Im lucky with the rest of the houston dudes.

there are not any skate shops in houston, it sucks

but if you skated k2's 10 year ago, you can go to sport authority like keith said they have fatty pro's
I skated k2's for a long time.
I got back into rolling about 6 months ago or so and Ive been sucking it up pretty bad. I didnt know anyone in houston that skated, when I moved here 4 years ago. I started postin on here again. and someone invited me to the thursday night skate at southside. now I know a bunch of dudes.
so once you get you some blades come on out and skate with us.
there are dudes ranging in age from 18 to 31, generally on a thrusday night there are about 15 to 20 of us up there skating. pretty good time, My one advice for you as far as choosing skates is this, I shoped around on ebay and whatnot finding cheap fairley good used blades to buy and try. instead of dropping serious dough on a new pair of skates.
