It goes by views and clicks of the ads. I don't know anything about this whole Macro thing but I would imagine they would get suspicious if your video all of sudden was getting lots ad clicks.

I think you're mistaken.. When you apply to get the video monetized it says you must own all the rights to all parts of your video and it has a piece about music. Even if you have a clip of a party or something and there is music playing in the background, they'll deny it. You somehow managed to get around that.. I don't know what song you used, maybe an independent/less known artist or something? Not one my video's is or should be considered "art" ...They're video's of my friends doing tricks on the blades that I cut together for fun. I think we're all aware we're not going to make millions off this but why not do it? I didn't make any of my video's to make money off them but if they're sitting on YouTube collecting views anyway, why not have some ads on them and make it a little bit of change. Like I said earlier, I'm up to about $55 in just under a year. Yeah, that ain't shit but that's awesome considering it's pretty much free money seeing as how I haven't really done anything.

How many views do you need before they start paying out? All my edits have music youtube would recognize, but I'm just curious.
I don't know the exact numbers but you won't get a payout till your Google Adsense account has $100 in it.
