I used to always wear a size 9 skate, and then went to Xsjados, and since then, I haven't really fit into a 9. I was skating a pair of the 10 RB's, and liked them, but I've always liked the smaller shells a lot more. So, I bought a pair of 9 skates for $50, and went to hacking. Did a little more work with a dremel tool, and shaped the cut more to my liking. Still need to do a little bit of work to them, as the area where my toe makes contact with the end of the shell is too high, and needs to be cut down for comfort. I liked all the modifications I did though. The skates felt a lot better than the 10's and the cuffs had a lot more flex.
Gaas, I'm not sure what you mean. Like, is the cuff too high on the skate? Cause that can be cut down (I recommend it). I don't know what the liners you are talking about look like though, so it could work, and could not.

It works but i think you have to mod the v-cut a little as seen here:

Hm, it looks to me that on that mod he made v-cut deeper than the v-cut on liner. As you can see here http://69.89.31.93/~rollerne/rn4/201...jug_liner3.jpg the v-cut ends at same height as stiching for carrying strap. And looking at that mod for fusion skates, the cut on cuff is more deeper than stiching for carrying strap.

I know what I want when it comes to flex, and the stock skate does not provide that. I'm asking for help before I cut the skates, and I'm an adult with a real job, and can afford to buy skates if I butcher some boots. Deal with it .gif
Wow, you're a dick. I don't have to deal with it, they are your skates!

That V-cut looks really excessive, but whatever floats your boat I guess. The only problem I would worry about if I was you is that it might start to flop out with that much material removed.
How many skateboarders does it take to change a lightbulb? One, but it'll take him 100 tries.

Just removing the amount of material I did gave the skates a lot more flex. I was happy with the cut I did. I thought that the cut above could be a little excessive, but the cuffs are replaceable, so if he hates it, it's a $20 fix. Here in America, land of the free, home of the brave, I got a pair of skates for $50 shipped brand new, and ordered two pairs, so if I fucked one pair up, I'd have another to skate, and I now have two pairs of smaller shells (9's), and one pair of larger shells (10's). All the mods are on the first pair of 9's (as my foot is about a 9.5 US, and the shell is just a little bit too small. Either way, I'm really happy with the way they skate after cutting them, and making adjustments. I haven't done anything to clean up the cuts I made on the top, and took more material away from the toe cuts I did, and it made them more comfortable. They might flop out on me, but I have a backup pair, and I don't skate often enough to burn out a pair in a short period.

And, if anyone wants to cop a pair at $50 in the US... SportChalet.com Search Rollerblade. They have like, 3 models at $50 in most sizes (or at least they did a few days ago).

Here is a picture of the toe cut after I did some additional plastic removal. I kept the bridge intact, and left the side of the boot in front closed. My big toe is the only one that has a problem in smaller shells, so by letting it fly, that should take care of the issue. I might open up the whole toe area at some point, depending on how they skate in the wild. We'll see. So far, I'm pretty happy with the cuts, however, I'm sure if I bash my toe on something, I'll be a bit less excited.
I did try some of the new USD Pheonix liners, but I think that they have too much stock heel protection, and when added with the large shock absorber in the RB's, it felt like I had a raised heel skate, and I didn't like it. I liked the liners, but they felt weird in the skates. I'm sure they feel a lot better in a USD boot, but such is life.

I did the next step on the evolution.
I hated the feeling of the 45° buckle cause it pressed the hole shell together. i cut of a piece of plastic under it even the eylet:

So the buckle got more space to work on my heal:

It still presses the shell but it got really better. IŽll try it out tomorrow evening and write a review. The next step will be something for saving weight.

    ...to be continued...

It still presses the shell but not as much as before. Tomorrow i will go out and test it a little more
