there's no doubt that alex broskow is better than brett urbas and one of the top 5 best bladers right now, but...
12 tries and he still won?
so bcsd is basically a best trick contest now?
what happened to consistency, flow, using the whole course and all that stuff?
i'd love to see the judging criteria for bcsd 2012...
amplitude (doesn't matter)
difficulty (yeah)
diversity (doesn't matter)
flow (a bit)
is his name alex broskow (winner)

If that is all the footage, I am a little baffled.
I do not want to hate on anyone better than me....
But those spins urbas did (including the big bank to bank gap) were larger than ayone else did.
Bank to bank BIG SPINS are hard as fuck considering bailey was just doing 360's during his run.
Urbas linked allot of spins onto that extension then went into something on the A Frame...
Broskow just kept doing torque souls.....(I'm sure his attention was onto the 540 to grind on the rail)
I have no favour towards either skater.....just pointing out what I saw.
If you start ignoring Am's skating their asses off, ignore people who take hard falls , comps will evolve to pro's serving up safety tricks (maybe not haffey ).
Evolution brings our sport forward and you should never slow it down in favour of not wanting to hurt someones feelings.
Just my vent, right or wrong.
Brett killed that competition, lot's of sick tricks and he is energetic as hell!
Broskow landed some clean tricks but nothing amazing. 540 ao topsoul was great and raw but that 540 sweety was :/
Brett Urbas looks like a park rat but he definitely landed bigger tricks and that ao top soul.....soul to 360 soul line was sick as fuck. I really want to see some Bailey footage from the finals.
Broskow should have gone to fakie out of the soul to set up for the fakie 5 sweat
This is more blatant than the Bolino controversy.
Brett Urbas won BCSD '12 as far as I can tell. Not even a contest. All Broskow did was skate the play rail.
Brett skated awesome...but what did he do thats not been seen at that park before? The fakie spins were cool and pretty clean, but the grinds were all done already in previous years, except maybe the soul 360 soul.
540 sweat and 540 alley topsoul are all new on that rail, however small it is.
I'm not saying Broskow should have won, more trying to understand what Brett did that was so original that warranted a win.
broscow is smart. he skates in front of the crowd where they cant miss the trick. also, those spins by urbas were gross. personally i wouldn't have counted them unless he was competing against brian boitano.
I'd give win to Bailey or Aragon but then again i wasn't there.
when I was there, I thought Bailey won, with urbas a close second. Bailey did a lot of hard tricks. Aragon was out to lunch, and didnt land much, but what he did land was "typical aragon tricks". I thought franco killed it! He should have placed higher.
and I want to see more chris smith footy, dude is so smooth!!
Urbas did nothing that has hasn't already been done at a previous BCSD besides the soul to makio.
Almost all of Broskow's tricks were first try besides the 5 sweaty and they weren't the run of the mill tricks.
bring back soul to makio!
