It was James Short's birthday a few days ago, too. I'm sick of bladers dying! It's a constant reminder that for all the things we think we know, life is unpredictable.

A compilation DVD or online is a really good idea, i'll talk to Boris about it when he is ok.

The Freeway section is timeless, a classic even.

This guy is/was l one of the best skaters of his generation, anywhere. Honestly, we haven't seen enough footage of him. You just know when someone is great because they look a little more solid on everything they do; a little more comfortable than the rest of us ever will. Note the topsoul at 17:50 in the section below. Too good and too unknown. I'd love to get a dvd compilation of this guy's clips, dead or alive.

Freeway section is my favorite too. I've found only this shitty quality one online where it's just his profile

But yeah the full one is what you posted

Damn, I can't believe it... this is so depressing... dude was so good!

He's been one of my favourite skaters ever since I saw him skate here in Sweden.

    Rest in peace, Andrey.

RIP. Sucks so much that so many great people pass... I wish the best to his friends and family. I remember watching his edits thinking "oh heres another dude from Russia, but wait! this guy is awesome!" Lets all remember this day and devote it to him in blading for his friends and family.

I didn't know him very well but skated with him numerous times. So i know him mostly by his skating. And it speaks for itself - legendary.

Needless to say he's my favorite in our scene. After the end of Iguana team he never fell off in the scene and kept skating in his own league, had untouchable level. At any competition or session you could see it, as someone said here, it's just obvious, every move is better than it could be done by anyone, comfortable on skates, raw talent. Watching his skating in person is amazing, i'm glad I did.

His recent trip to europe was very exciting, the ninja shredding on a whole new level of consciousness. He was totally back and in the best way ever, mature, controlled and with this unique style that only Andrey could pull off. He himself said recently that he is there, where he wants his skating to be. And i think they had more plans with Boris, damn I just recently had a chat with my friend about inviting Andrey to go with us to a US road trip this summer, sadly it's not going to happen

At least from what I know he was enjoying himself a lot lately, and during his lifetime he traveled a lot and has seen the world, perhaps he's in a better one now. I'll always remember him as a dedicated, talented, positive and kind guy who's been the best at what he was doing.

It's such a shock to see him go, the whole scene is posting about him since yesterday in a russian social network.
I will try to organize a session in a tribute to him or at least to take part in it, need to talk to Boris but I know he's been a closer friend to Andrey and it's just not the right time to bother him.

So sad, rest in peace, Andrey

I love kids. They're short, highly emotional people who don't know anything. They rely on their creativity and imagination to get by in the world. A world, I might add, filled with giants. Amazing feat.
