I believe they only made rec skates earlier...
Not sure what came first.....
Roces Street
Roces Impalas or Lowriders
Roces m12's
Their history page does not mention The roces Street skate or the impalas...
Impala and lowrider came before the m12.
Roces fco rome was a rec skate
M12 was drop in 95 with chapter 322 and roces street and the roces curb for kids
The roces vert is the first for me.
Oh I can see how you would be confused.
Nah it is Be-Mag messageboard; but its the new softer version where everyone powerblades.
So you never know anymore if someone is interested in grinding or not.
But hang in there. You're a really smart guy so I'm sure you'll catch up.
Op asked about "do you know what models were produced by ROCES before M-12?" for his girlfriend.
Before the Majestic 12?? Everything was a rec skate before the Majestic 12!
The difference between almost any rec skate at the time and the Tarmac C.E. was the addition of the metal grind plate and a plastic plate screwed to the back for the crank strap to attach too..
So if you purchased almost any rec skate at the time, a grind plate or a wrench, and a crankstrap, you had virtually the same thing..
We already had a thread about what was the oldest "Aggressive skate".
Where I was living at the time (from memory) the order of release was:
Roces Low rider
Impalas
Street
Majestic 12
The Majestic 12 pretty much set the standard for all pre UFS frames, It also had a replaceable grind block and grind plates.
Dear Op.
If your G/F wants the oldest aggressive skate then you have 1 choice.
Majestic 12.
/thread.
Thanks for the blading history psyfron, but i ve start in 1993 so I allready know all of this. But says before m12 it was only rec skates it s a big mistake : the rb tarmac, boxcar and menace are not some rec skates even if they have big wheels. (for exemple boxcar got an antirocker setup right out of the box). But they re is Oxygen too with the argon (out before the m12) and many other brand you ve forgot : bauer for exemple (frontside, misty and more : setup with a rec shell but with aggressive wheels and grind plates)
K2 was in the game too with fatty sc and fatty pro a year after.
Oh dear it seems your English fails you again.
Op asked for Old Roces skates... I didn't forget about those skates. Just none of the skates you mentioned are Roces and therefore have no place in this thread.
I owned a lot of the skates you mentioned and found the Majestic 12 to be best of them all...
The oldest and best aggressive Roces skate is the majestic 12.
Addressing the skates you mentioned.
The First edition of the Tarmac CE was just a TRS lightning with a grind plate on it, and a heal strap. It came with a brake for fuck sake. Therefore not really a true aggressive skate.
Boxcars: came with a brake....
Oxygen argon: Yes. new frame design and a boot that was not taken from rec skates. Fantastic.
Bauer frontside: never got them in Australia. But if they were before the Majestic then they truly were ahead of their time. Look comfy too!
misty: Never got that in Australia either... But again, came with a brake.
K2: Yes. First guys to go with less of a raised heal. (Did they have a brake? don't remember.)
As I said; but to clarify.
Dear Op.
If your G/F wants the oldest ROCES aggressive skate then you have 1 choice.
Majestic 12.
