Thread: Question about the Elliot 2s

  1. #1

Default Question about the Elliot 2s

Are they any good? Are the stock liners shit? Backslide plate slow or fast? Frame channel centered or off center?

If I'm coming from K2s, will I hate them? I hated the shit out of the OS2s, made my feet fall asleep and the 3 piece soul plate twisted laterally.

I love kids. They're short, highly emotional people who don't know anything. They rely on their creativity and imagination to get by in the world. A world, I might add, filled with giants. Amazing feat.

well, i think they're one of the best skates ever made. they just feel really natural on torques and soul tricks. however, the souls wear out fast. so, avoid cess slides. i used to go through a set of souls in 2-3 weeks because of cess slides. that's why i stopped skating them, coudn't afford dropping 40 euro on a set of souls so often.

can't compare them to remz, not in the least, completely different skates.

    I don't do cess slides.

K2 isn't working for me right now, I feel I really need to try something different.

    Most comfortable hardboot ever made.
The boot shape is perfect and locks your foot down very solidly.
Souls and BS plates are super fast.
    Best torques in the biz.
Do the do lean out a little bit. The frame is slightly off centered but it's not super bad. Salomon cuffs fix this or you can take an adjustable Razors cuff bolt and make the negative side cuff bolt adjustable. Rocker that bitch up and your cuffs will be straight up and down. If this isn't enough then rocker the positive side down too.
Very flexy as the cuff placement it lower than other Razors.
As far as I can remember all Elliot liners were pretty good. I loved the Elliot 3 liners.
If you hate the souls then Nimh, Valo and TRS souls fit on pretty easy.
My only complaint is the weak souls and raised heel. I was hoping SL would be my savior years ago but they were not...

    Thanks, Justin. You've convinced me

But, I'm confused when you say "adjustable Razors cuff bolt."

the nut on the inside of the shell is an oval and the threaded hole is at one end.

so you can position the hole up or down by turning the nut around 180 degrees

Wu keeps telling me that the boots go floppy after a few months.
that has prevented me from trying the razor boots... or the ssm for that matter...

They were good skates. Frames were slightly off center but not bad. nugens were stupid easy. Soles died in two weeks.

At the time I was skating street for 2-6 hours every day. If you only skate a few times a week they will last longer. As psy said they go floppy in the summer, something about the shitty plastic they use. I LOVED the cult boot but I was buying new skates every three months (RW $100 special) because they died so quick.

I would stay away, besides do you want to support the company that is flooding the skateparks with scooters?

EDIT: When I left the states my closet was literally filled to my waist with old razor shells.

I skate maybe once a week and have zero time to skate street.

And unlike K2, replacement parts are available in abundance. Souls are $40, backslide plates are $15. If faggy scooters make that possible, I don't give a fuck.

I'd say get SSM's if you think Cults could be for you. You could downsize to size 2 shell (toecut) and the plate is much better. However I was impressed how well the original Cult plates slid and how they locked you in. Can't talk about longevity. No shock absorbers in both SSMs and Cults but you could always experiment with insoles. Elliott's probably gone for a good bit of $$$, they are legendary.

I've been skating them for a few years now. My skate of choice above all the rest, but that's because they fit my foot so well. What boot do they make in your size, 10-11? I think they'd be good for you. Way more supportive than K2's. The problem is finding a good liner to put in them.

You can see some of my set-ups through the years on my photobucket: http://s39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/alexcoe/ and here's some vids of me skating in them of late: https://vimeo.com/user1419868/videos/appears/sort:date

I tried the Nimh soles this year and they work out pretty good. I think you're a 10 boot but I'd get the 8-9 plates and work them on. Double buckles aren't mandatory but I got too much heel lift just lacing them.

I don't know about the Elliott's, but classic razors in general.

Also, they do supinate like all Razors/most skates, but what can you do?

Also, do you like the raised heel? I have come to like it but I thought I remembered you saying it wasn't your cup of tea.

Also, what more do you need?:

    ALSO:

    GET THESE VINCE!!!

    http://www.be-mag.com/msgboard/showt...nny-s-and-misc

You used to be able to get $5 soles at RW. I think they still have some. They aren't UFS, which means you have a drill two holes And you need adapter blocks, I don't know where to get those. Maybe someone who used to have some old Classic Razors?
