Favorite Powwow Moments

1. Studs strip club. Possibly the nastiest strip club on the planet in one of the scummiest parts of town, but fill it with 40+ rollerbladers and it was fucking awesome. MOTORBOAT.

2. Gang of 50+ bladers walking the streets of Jacksonville at 12:45am looking for another bar after getting to the first after party spot and seeing all the shirtless glowstick dudes walking around the place. So many people traveling in one group for like 5 blocks that we litterally stopped traffic in some place (Blake, we know you had no idea about the after party situation, glad it all worked out at the next place)

3. Walking into a bar with 50 people that had 3 people in it before that and taking the whole place over. Those bar tenders either loved us or hated us.

4. Blake Taylor standing on top the bench in the bar at closing time chugging a beer and everyone chanting and screaming for him.

5. Beach on Sunday. Everyone who made it there knows how much fun that was.

buying jon bolino, and Dave Lang some beers for destroying Kona. talking to bolino about his pro skate prototype that he was wearing. Watching my gf slap the defensive tackle from the jacksonville jaguars because he was getting a little too friendly with her at the nfl draft pick party at whiskey river/suite. sampling gregs pow wow beer. figuring out lines to skate the akward pvc boxes in the cement area. crushing my wrist after slipping out of a neg top acid on the a frame box. buying fallon a beer since she crushed her shoulder. watching cooley compete despite the head wound. watching Casey wilson compete in the old man devision. fun times were had. will be there again in the future.

Oh, I also forgot to mention as part of the strip club story... Steve Gasstation getting more attention from everyone than the strippers were. The strippers were pretty jealous of him.

i've never seen an atmosphere of a rollerblading comp be soooo laid back, while everyone still skated as hard as possible!

i'm not so sure if i have ever seen anyone 540 off of a vert ramp to as far of a drop, and lace it as hard as mark did, in my entire life!

Kona is definietly one of the best places to skate in the United States, and if you have never been there then take next pow wow to visit this amazing ass place.
The history of the place is skateboarder oriented, but things change. from what i saw the people that ran the place loved the whole event, and we really need to appreciate being able to have the competition at this place!

I'm always so glad I didn't go 'out' until I hear stories.

My favorite moments were shit talking with Blake and Dennis in the hotel on Thursday, beers with my friend from undergrad at Intuition Brewery (black rye was legit) and pizza somewhere close after, box test run session at an empty Kona first thing Friday morning, one good ao X on that curve PVC box after too many tries, Bolino and Lang being super friendly, seeing the Carolinas dudes, seeing Taylor Popham and doing some good chilling, shit talking to Goez with Ricky Martinez, getting props from Sizemore about the Buddy Twor edit vibe and just chatting and being friendly with that dude in general, hanging with Nick Tary and cracking up at breakfast catching up on what I 'missed' at the strip club, nailing golf balls at the crawfish boil, seeing Hairball homies Melanie and Jared, that band playing Johnny Thunders and Dead Boys covers, chips at Chilis with Jesse... probably more.

Not favorite moments - missing or botching clips, camera running out of batteries during the last few bangers of the pro-am (need a second battery and charger for all-day events or sessions), missing Sean, Mike and Taylor skate on Friday, whenever that was, not enough shade and water readily available, not hanging out with Delaney at Chilis because I never see that dude, being kind of a pussy about skating that A frame box.

I only had 38$ for the whole weekend. Shit sucked and I'm really fucking sad I missed such a great pow wow. Im really glad it went so well though. Good work buddy! Can't wait to see the edits.
