Enough of this horseshit. The Pow-wow will never be the BCSD. I used to want it to be. However, it's not what I want of the event anymore. DK does an amazing job with his vision of what he wants his event to be.

I have my vision of what the event should be, and it's not BCSD. You'll just have to attend for yourself to find out what that is b/c I could care less about the coverage. It's for those that attend.

Really though, I am flattered this post was even made. Thanks for the kind words fellas. Go to both events if you can. "We" will do our very best next year to top this year's Pow-wow but that will be a tough feat b/c this year was by far the best contest I've ever been to (I know I am biased on this one).

This was almost the last year I was going to do the event b/c the "fun" was being out weighed by the stress of the production, distraction from my wife, and the procrastination of the participants. However, when it was all said and done, I care too much for it, and have way too much fun during the event. I go into it as one of you guys. I go to the parties, I drink heavily, I sleep very little, and I skate as much as I can(even competed this year). I let shit takes it's course, and go with it.

You all should be thanking DK as well, b/c without him who knows where our industries event status would be. His event transistioned an era and brought us into our own. He sets the bar every year, and us little guys are just trying to get the scraps, and keep up. Although I don't want the Pow-wow to be another BCSD, I still strive to grow the event.

I agree 100%. This post wasn't about bashing him, because what he's done is amazing.

As far as I know 688 is gone. The ramps are no more. Besides Tampa is too far south. I can not add that much drive time for the northern attendants. There really is no other option than Kona. I have to consider a lot of things when planning the location. Airport, venue capacity, and drive accessibility all have to be considered.

Besides no other park will beat the agreement I have with Kona, which only helps the prize pool. No other venue will be as lenient as Kona, and has a Shawn Gutz as a manager. Shawn not only is a blader but also has the hook up on whatever after party venue we like (although he misjudged this year venue) in J-ville, and can get a live band to play during the event.

Sure Kona's facility is out-dated, and needs some major work but adding obstacles helps. The place has so much history, and that "dirty south" appeal. Just like last year to this year, gonna be switch things up a bit next year. So expect some new surprises. One being a field of kiddy pools.
