When you spin into it, start stalling them first and use the step on method, I mean twist like slap your hblock up there first and then lock the soul foot topside, so you can build that muscle memory for it. And gradually increase speed until you can go head on at whatever speed you want.e, a lot of people do that...they just do it quick enough it's hard to tell that the hblock is hitting first and the soul foot follows...kind of like an 270 back pudslide or something. There is no zero ao though or I've never referred to it as that, just zero spin top soul. Zero spin has no spin going fakie into a grind so how can it be called that? That reminds me of true spin alleyoop haha never understood why people say that , tru and ao are two different ways of spinning.

Sadly, there is far more to life than rollerblading.

start with rolling slow and watch your soul foot to make sure it locks. keep increasing your speed once you get comfortable locking it in. watching your soul foot and making sure it locks is the important part. that and making sure you jump high enough. good luck!

Learn to value the beauty of underjumping the trick. If you get really good at catching yourself and keeping yourself stairside. the rest falls into place with practice. I dont look at my backfoot at all when I do the trick, I focus on my front foot and getting it where it needs to be, I underjump the trick and allow my backfoot to find the rail or ledge, this technique keeps my body stair side and my weight almost 50/50 between the back and front foot. It makes for an equitable distribution of momentum that lets you decide how the heck you want to come out of the trick, rewind, 360, stay fakie (personal favorite) I have been trying to do rewind 540 for a long time but I cant seem to make that happen. I would say that I am not even that great of an ao topsouler, more so, I am a great ao topsoul misser, I found a way of doing the trick that I can almost always save myself when I try the trick and keep myself from hard falls by staying stairside and being concious of where my feet are at all times so when I am about to miss, i find my footing.

My method may not help that much because I have explained it to others before and it usually does not help them because I don't really do the trick in a way that fits the posture that most people skate with. the best advice is find a spot you are really comfortable with and keep practicing different techniques until you find one that works for you, once you find a method you like...keep doing it over and over until it becomes second nature.

Yeah Brett, I notice that almost every time you do those you look pretty much toward your hblock foot...I was actually thinking about you when I tried to explain it to him, because I noticed you do that and seeing the way you do it helped me, even though I have a hard time with them on down stuff...I can get them good on flat surfaces pretty good.

Favorite trick. I do them like how Brett described. I never look at my soul foot, I just do the trick.

fun on rails, not fun on ledges. I do every other ao topside with my right, and ao topsoul with my left.

I can't do them regular, but I can do them switch in a park environment. Switch 360 AO topsouls feel really nice and safe on quarters, because that's how I spin into all of my fullcab AO tricks.

Just like Brett said, I focus more on locking my trailing foot than my leading foot.
