the job market was pretty healthy when I left AUS, as they reli mainly on China's economy which isnt as badly effected by the reccesion compared to UK and USA.

I'm not sure whats it like now, I was earning $55k a year doing a job which required no formal qualifications just experience. Then again the cost of living in Australia, particularly in Perth is a fucking joke. $50 for a case of beer, come on now!

now I'm doing a similar job and earning about $18,000 a year less. If you try hard enough you can find work, I used to print out 50 C'vs a week and walk around every single job agency in town and register with them all, applied for approximatley 150 jobs online over a 1 month period, constantly making improvements to my CV.

if you want it badly enough you can find work, the problem with the UK is they make it easy enough to get by without working some people get stuck in this comfortable / unemployment rut, where they just sit at home playing xbox all day. sure they are 3 million un-employed but I'd be suprised if the number who are activly seeking employment and doing everything in their power to find work is close to 50%

explain that one mate real i like to know the hole in my logic are you under some impression that jobs grow on trees that anyone with a well writen c.v can get hire just by sending it to a company all the c.v advice in the world cant do fuck all about there being no jobs and thats a fact

500000 unemployed people in scoland alone and you'd be lucky if there 10000 jobs in the contry you do the math

I've been grinding hard trying find a job. It's a bit discouraging having no one respond back and seeing your classmates find jobs right out of school.

you wrote that non-sense almost in a fashion that you're putting other unemployed people down, especially with all this "professional" help you have. maybe you should lower your sights. again - check out mcdonalds or another menial job you may be over-looking. doing something is better than your bitching.

i would never put anyone down who is unemployed and trying to find a job im there and have been there in the past . and that comment was directed at post 22 regarding paying to get my c.v updated realy no offece intended

but you seem to be missing the hole point of the thread about why it is so hard to get a job when you have all the thing that are supose to make it easy qualification , experience ,and a very good network of support behind you that very few have , friend in many different engineering sectors ready to tip you off about jobs and still

as for mcdonalds, asda, tesco, halfords ,b&q are just a few of the minimum wage job(that wouldnt begin to touch my morgage never mind feed my family or pay ma bills) that have turn me away because they know my earning potential like i said 500000 unemployed why take the the 30 year old mechanical engineer who will leave the as soon as an engineering job comes along or will we take the 16 year old school leaver we can pay minimum wage and will be greatful for it

trust me i will do any job that will pay me i have no pride when it come to feeding my kids but at the same time i have put in the hard work for the last 15 years of my life and if i dont beleave that i can do better than mcdonalds flipping burger then what employer will beleave i can do more

sounds like you want people to just say, "it aint you bro, don't worry. you all good youll bounce back."

read up on how to take advantage of government unemployment programs. you might find that to be easier
