let's burn those damn hoodies and zippers!
Ok guys after working with inline warehouse, and the conference, they said they would be sending me a pair of replacement skates and the issue has been solved.
Where is Oli?
we need answers to the following questions before this thread can die!!
1. are these fuckers free?
2. why was it denied in the first place?
3. how did it get fixed?
4. so what about the 5 year warranty?
5. if something breaks do we: A. call the shop? B. call the conference? C. complain to Oli? D. Complain on be-mag? Or E. Just buy something else to avoid being fucked around?

They will be sending me another pair of usd carbon 2's free of charge. Not sure why it was denied in the first place, it seems as though the damages to my skates fit within the 5 year carbon fiber guarantee so I feel as though it should have been honored immediately, but it was taken care of eventually. Basically Oli Benet helped get this resolved. Not too sure about the stipulations of the 5 year guarantee still, I feel as though it should be explained in more detail some where. The only place this guarantee seems to exists is on theconference.org in the owners manual for the skates it says 2 year manufacturers warranty against defects, and when I contact any one, I initially get a 1 year warranty. I think they need to synchronize all of these things to avoid any misleading mistakes in the future.
and yes A,B,C, and D worked together haha...I almost gave up and resorted to E.
To be honest, when you consider the turn over 'aggressive skating' offers the Conference in comparison to their recreational line, they could probably offer a life-time guarantee on everything they make.
The Conference distributor/retail expo happened recently, and a few shop-owning friends I know attended it in Germany. As far as I can tell The Conference treats our scene as research and development, they barely break even with sales of USD/Kizer/Xsjado, but the designs and boot evolution heavily influence their rec line, which rakes in serious cash.
My opinion of Oli B and USD has changed loads in the past year or so. He's definitely watching out for skating, and plugging as much cash back into the scene as he can. I wouldnt hate on him.
