Thread: Carbon 4 prototype?

  1. #1

    Default Carbon 4 prototype?

These look bad ass. The soul plates and cuffs look a lot thicker than the previous carbons from what I can see. They really need to add a plastic toe cap to help protect the boot though.

Is that a separate piece of plastic under the cuff for support or did they create a hideous one-piece monstrosity specifically for this skate?

Also not a big fan of the mesh or whatever that is. Reinforced toecap is a good idea though. Not so sure about that rubber[?] patch on the side. Also not sure on that lacing system.

what we really need is that liner. i'll just gut my old carbons and put that liner in. plus heat molding liners are deceiving and isn t nearly the same as molding the shell. If heat molding current carbons makes the shell change then thats different. heat molding liners just break the liners in faster. I just want that liner, unless it's just the phoenix liner, then i'll take that instead at a cheaper price.

and that rubber protection thing needs to be replacable and plastic.

Why would they want to do that?

actually, if drilling holes and whatnot in carbon makes issues, which apparently it does, they should just use the carbon free shell and make all the good mods. actually, just make a carbon free version of this and i'll think about it.

i'm guessing it makes it more rigid the tighter the weave. which would cause cracks and breaks. but if they made the weave bigger and the carbon more flexible, which is why i'm guessing they added that extra part on the cuff.

i don't really like the rubber for looks or function. seems like once you wore down the threads on the rubber that it could get torn off and cause a really awesome hole.

That cuff thing is removable, apparently. Apparently they're citing it as new technology allowing you to skate V-cut or not. Cough cough Remz cough cough.
How many skateboarders does it take to change a lightbulb? One, but it'll take him 100 tries.

They need to start tossing the VII soles on these; I also wish they would have came out with a pro edition so someone would be getting paid.

exactly what i was thinking, but i hope they are actually bits of plastic. they did help prolong the life of the skin on Details, Alphas etc a massive amount in that area.

the cuff is different, the upper part of the cuff is removable(V-CUT)
    the cuff is more supportive
the carbon4 is more comfortable than carbon2 or 3 because the liner do its job very nice!
    3 lace-holes in the liner

I felt 4s is heavier than 3s,but that isnt a big deal

Remz cuffs are perforated for you to cut and once you cut them, that's it. These you can change from regular to v-cut whenever you want.... So yeah, it is different.
