When Colin did what Damien did we told him to shut the fuck up.

yes he did it on a smaller scale and did not come across as clearlry, but myself included stuck up for the Conference because this company is one of the few who stayed with our sport.
Most of the hate from me towards colin came from the fact he questioned two Aussie pro's getting attention.

Rian is studying to get a real job and CJ I think works in a skateboard/scooter/inline shop and doesn't have a sponsor.

yes I am being extremely biased but from a marketing to the general public thing (the types who watch X games)......
Big gappy shit Cj does, will get more attention than the creative negative spin pornography that gets all of us off.

Rian, I think was smart enough to have a good backup plan, but I believe that guy should have been where Jc Rowe is.
When you think of his skating you think of Rians different style of dress and those white farmers he repped far more than farmer ever did.
His skate style is 100% xsjado and actually prompted me to try someonea pair on to see if I liked skating that skate.

I'm pro-homosexual, but I think it is time to let go of the words fag and gay in their dictionary. It wasn't their words when they were invented, it was associated with homosexuals for several decades, but now it has long moved past that into "stupid"

"that's gay" is no longer "that's homosexual". It's queer, strange, unusual, or ... when things cannot be understood, stupid. Enough of the homosexual talk. Gay and Fag should just be let go of. both words have exchanged meaning for generations. It will co ntinue to exchange the meaning.

This is all interesting and true to some extent, however... The anti-homo connotations are still implied when these words are used.. even blithely on forums such as this, 'fag' and 'gay' are used in place of 'pussy' 'coward' or 'weakling' (generally, not always).... just as 'retard' is used in place of 'stupid' or 'dumbass' etc...

You're right about the changing nature of words and the power different people attach to them and I dig that " iam..., i am offended by..." thing.... but, as illogical as it may be, offence is a part of human nature and always has been and will be... Jealousy is also 'illogical', that doesn't stop it being a profoundly affecting feeling all humans feel at one point of another.

Vulcan logic may deem the above feelings pointless or obsolete.... Human experience says otherwise.

Personally, I have no problem with Damiens language, he is an entertaining guy and I doubt he's truly a homophobe, but still I can see why people may find it hard to shallow (like a face full of baby batter, ZING!), and I can't really argue with Dan Bonds opinion at all, even though I don't necessarily share it.

Seriously, if you're offended because you care about someone who's gay or because you are gay then ask Damien for an apology. Send him a message and let him know the deal, I'm sure he's man enough to see things from your perspective and maybe change his ways.
