Thread: How many pushups you do a day?

Sit-ups are great if you are trying to hurt your back.

As for push-ups, I have tennis elbow and don't want to over stress it. I never go over 200 or below 100 a day. I was doing a lot of pull-ups at one point but then I moved and lost that little metal wedge for PERFECT PULL-UP and now I don't do any. I just use the lat-pull machine.

Bullshit, accompany them with other forms of training and you're fine. I can tell you one thing for sure though; sitting like a slob in a chair in front of your computer is def more hurtful to your back. My back is killing me when I'm sitting for days with assignments and shit.

Oh and sorry to the guy who got butthurt over my last post, I'm joking and there's no egomasturbation but there's no need to get fat when it's easy to stay in shape.

If I ever get another office job I'm getting a damn stability ball for a chair. I have absolutely no problem being the office asshole eating Fage 0% yogurt and answering calls on the swiss ball.

I HATE running so much. Haven't ran since high school. I can easily surpass 10 miles on blades or the elliptical in an hour or so but I have to keep taking walking breaks every mile on the track since I started running again this week. I can sprint the 1/4 mile in 1min and 20seconds but I can't keep that pace at all. Hopefully it'll get easier. I'm training for law enforcement, so don't commit crimes in my general area!

Usually 300, but sometimes I slack. And 500 sit ups.

Don't you all have anything better to do with your time? Between flexing your muscles and the amount of time spent on Be-mag I believe you all never sleep.

    alot!!! but not everyday

just started P90 X last week on top of powerblading 5-10 miles everyother day to help take the soreness out of my muscles. Yoga is by far the hardest disc for me. the plyometrics really seems like it is going to help with my balance while skating. i would recomend it if anybody asked for a good work out regiment

I was going to make a thread about this. 3 years ago I was in stellar shape. Things happened, got married, and got that freshmen 20. Since I've been over here there isn't much else to do besides troll be-mag, read, and exercise.

On my off day (once every ten days) I do a minimum of 50.
Every other day I set a minimum of 100. It typically works out (no pun intended) to be around 200. So far today, I've done 235. A decent tool for determining a goal is a deck of card. Grab a buddy and you each flip a card in turn. Do the number of pushups the card represents. The other day there were 6 of us and we combined 2 decks, but it really should have been 3 decks. We all knocked out at least 150 within 25 minutes. Felt good, man.

I have a whole workout plan that involves running, pushups, sit-ups, Insanity, and resistance bands. Running is the worst shit ever so I only end up running ~3.5 miles at a time and probably 3 times a week. I do Insanity a minimum of two times a week. My plan is kinda all over the map and not solid.

My metabolism is pretty shitty these days (dirty 30 and sloth) and I've changed my intake to more "clean" foods (grilled chicken breast with green beans vs fried, breaded chicken breast dipped in cheese ale soup). My fat loss has been pretty slight over the past three weeks. However, my muscle mass has become much more noticeable.

I agree with Billy. If I had the motivation and time, I would totally piece together a plan that involves daily Insanity or P90x coupled with morning time resistance training.

The core, it would be amazing. The body, women would flock to it.

my left elbow has something that slips over the bone, a ligament or something, it pops really loud and hurts a bunch whenever I try to do anything too strenuous with it, including push ups

It's been happening for almost ten years now after I slammed my elbow into the back of a bowl learning fakie 540's

I am the exact opposite. i will be 28 in December but weigh the same as i did in highschool 155-160. about 20-25 lbs underweight for my frame. One of my close frat bros. graduated with a degree in human nutrition so i hit him up to come up with a game plan to see if it is biologically possible to put weight on me. pretty much have to do P90X for 120-150 days (P150 X) to help get my muscle endurance, flexibility, and overall stamina up. then I will be switching regiments using select P90X discs with almost no cardio outside of warm up for the workouts followed by a ton of protein shakes throughout the day and some kind of creatine bull crap right before workouts. allready have noticeable results after a week in a half in my shoulders and my abs. right now i'm really digging the increased flexibility and endurance. have not skated in 2 weeks so i am anxious to see how this benefits me while skating if at all
