Sup faggets, Im bored and am in the process of building up a huge list of photographers for my notebook so I have them all in one place...figured I might slowly make this thread into a photographer dump in the process..

1. Gregory Crewdson (born September 26, 1962) is an American photographer who is best known for elaborately staged[1] scenes of American homes and neighborhoods.





2. Sally Mann is an American photographer, best known for her large black-and-white photographs—at first of her young children, then later of landscapes suggesting decay and death.

18. George Brassaï (pseudonym of Gyula Halász) (9 September 1899 – 8 July 1984) was a Hungarian photographer, sculptor, and filmmaker who rose to international fame in France in the 20th century. He was one of the numerous Hungarian artists who flourished in Paris beginning between the World Wars.

36. Naomi Harris (born May 26, 1973 in Toronto, Canada) is a Canadian photographer living in New York. After completing her Bachelor in Fine Arts from York University, Toronto, she moved to New York where she received her photographic training at New York’s International Center of Photography.

She moved to Miami Beach in December 1999 to begin her first personal project documenting the last hotel in South Beach that catered to senior citizens. The project, called “Haddon Hall Hotel ” received The International Prize for Young Photojournalism presented by Agfa and Das Bildforum in Germany in 2001

While living in Miami, she would frequent a nude beach where she began photographing fellow sun worshipers. Shortly thereafter she learned that many of the other beach goers were also swingers. After attending a party she decided she had to photograph this fascinating subculture.

Upon returning to New York in April 2002 she began researching the lifestyle and did her first swinger shoot in July 2003 in Black River Falls, WI. This was to be the first of over 38 parties she would photograph in 48 months all over the US.

The project was realized in America Swings, her first monograph published by Taschen in October 2008. It was edited by Dian Hanson and includes an interview by artist Richard Prince who sought out Harris after seeing her work in Taschen’s The New Erotic Photography.

Danke. Like I said I'll add more as I get the time, I figured I'd list all the photographers I know for myself but I get pissed off with the current state of photography because I feel like our pioneers and new artists dont get any attention whilst more people than ever are taking photos. It'd be nice if people at least knew about these guys before they turned the other cheek on em...it's not easy learning about photographers either and does take a lot of time to gather info on them which I can appreciate which is why this should hopefully make it easier for be-faggets.

Ive mainly worked off of what is either at the front of my memory or is on the book shelf above my head but I'll keep expanding....With the few images I post along with their name Im just trying to give people an idea of what their work looks like...hopefully people will research anyone they like.

He's a good blogger and teacher. He's also good in a commercial sense but nothing for the history books... I dont hate on a photographer unless they're a scrape and copy others (e.g.Tyler Shields) or if they are talentless (e.g.Tyler Shields) and are someone who I feel is taking commissions that people with talent should be getting.

Sidenote for ppl- I didnt plan on making a definitive list of every photographer to have ever lived ever, so with all the "what about this dude?"...make a contribution like MorganHiver...I'll chip in to this thread when I get the time.
