Thread: Should rollers from all mediums get together?

  1. #1

Default Should rollers from all mediums get together?

Like how Shredweiser includes a skateboarder, Jaren Grob rolls with BMXers and how most of us skated with skateboarders and BMXers in the 90s. If there was a way to do it, I think a clothing company would be ideal. Set up skate demos or at least online promos of different athletes rolling together. However, skateboarders get paid so much money, I doubt a company that isn't a major retailer could afford them.

I think it'd be pretty rad to see Chris Farmer clips with Richie Jackson and one of those crazy wallrider BMXers.

Ok, now everyone call me a faggot.

    THANKS!

That would be cool, but I don't see it happening. The maturity doesn't seem to be there.

yes. i think that rollers of all kinds should get together and have a good time. There would have to be a couple of criterias though.

    1. leave your ego at home
    2. expect the unexpected
    3. have fun on skates
    4. don't take it too seriously
    5. you are alive and physically able to do such activity, so be goddamn fucking happy you can!!!!
    6. ????? what else????

It would actually be kinda cool. instead of all the competition it would just be dudes being stoked for each other.

Kinda reminds me of my hometown skate park growing up

I don't understand all the hate either. The town I live in is nothing but skateboarders aside from me and my cousin. My friend and I have a very shitty clothing "company" that's put out 5 shirts and 3 videos in 5 years. Pretty much just half assing everything. Everyone else skateboards. This is the first video we made. My part's at about 13:49

Yeah, why wouldn't someone who skates as creative as Latimer want to skate with some other creative skateboard like Richie and some flatland type BMX rider. I love seeing small things done on a large scale. Cess slides and then jumping onto a curb for a stylish backslide. Stuff like that would work, as boarders usually don't skate large things anyway but guys like Richie make it look dope.

Wait... are you guys serious? I do it all the time. Usually not street spots, but at skateparks. I get along with people who are like me, so I'm friends with people who have similar interests as me, but skating isn't my only interest. I have a lot of skateboarding friends.

All my skate friends live in NY. I'm a loser and failed to make new ones in the 10 years I've lived here in CA. However, I keep meeting random boarders (various ages...16-30) almost every time I skate street and they all think I possess super human abilities because I'm able to jump on above-the-waist surfaces. I'm nowhere near as good as I used to be before I quit 7 years ago but they still act like the gay stuff I am able to do is great. That's what made me think about this thread topic...if a truly talented roller used their *popularity* to skate with other BMX and boarders, then that could open up old doors again and get younger boarders/BMX kids to respect bladers and possibly make the switch.

So, Bulletprufe, Ucon and Vibralux should consider picking up other athletes other than bladers and put out some promos/exhibitions. INRI even have a decent boarder but then again, that's INRI...nothing productive will ever come out of that company.

No matter how many times Richie's section gets posted I'll never be sick of watching it.

Sadly, there is far more to life than rollerblading.
