Thread: Xsjados vs Carbons

    Default Xsjados vs Carbons

so i recently started skating xsjados, and they are by far the best skates ive ever had. they aren't mine, but a pair my friend lent for me to try them out. ill be buying new skates soon, and i love the xsjados. i was told by a friend of mine that has skated both xsjados and carbons, that they skate very similar, except the carbons are lighter and more comfortable. if i like xjsados as much as i do, would it be better to get a new pair of them, or switch to carbons?

Carbon aren't more comfortable than Xsjado but the comfort is good. Carbon are lighter, lower, and harder than Xsjado. I switched Xsjado to carbon 2 and I don't find them similar. May be try some carbon 2, free, 3 (I don't have test carbon 4) before buy.

if you love your xsjados, stick with them. your friend says carbons are better but everyone like different things.

I skated Xsjados on/off for 4 years and then went carbon with the Carbon 2's. I stuck with them for over a year but couldn't make them work, so I switched back to Xsjados a few months ago and won't be going back!

That said, everyone's taste is different, so try them if you can and find what you like.

Oh, and to actually answer your question I would say they're two of the most different skates on the market right now. For me, Xsjados feel solid and supportive, whereas Carbons feel light (flimsy) and too low cut. Didn't like the Carbon soleplates either, the bs area sucked.

Skated xsjados for about 3 years? Switched to carbons and they were ok, skated them for a year solid...but I've said it to many times now, I think super light hockey style skates are bad for some people, like me. I won't go into that though, I will say I went to skating nimh after carbons and been enjoying them for a little while now, but I'm soon to be going back to xsjado. The main reason all I can think of to why I stopped skating xsjados is because I got bored with them. I would say to buy your own set of xsjados, since you are familiar with them, and skate them until you get bored of them, if you get bored with them of course. Carbons have a bad bs space imo, even if you dremel it out, it still kind of sucks compared to that bad ass stock groove of xsjados. I'd go as far to say xsjados have the best stock groove...ever, and it gets better as you wear it in.

2 best skates around so either way you are in good hands. Maybe wait for the xsjado 2 to come out.

Try both, if you like xsjado more, wait for 2.0.

    glad its not just me

if you like xsjados, stick with xsjados.
once you start changing skates to find something better you will usually find that the best skates for you are the ones you started out with. and until you realize that you will spend way more money trying to find that perfect skate, when the answer is right under your nose

Yeah, I liked carbons a lot, but I think I am sticking with Xsjado. The Carbon 2s just hurt my ankles because I would tighten them up as much as possible to at least feel supported.
