For me, if you do a darkside, you name the trick as it would be from the side you are grinding on: ie dark true top porn would be like a farside back sav but with the back foot in a fakie fish. With a farside, you name it as if you are grinding the side you started on: Farside alley oop topsoul would be the same spin and foot positioning as a true soul, but coming from the other side.
So, farside assumes you are topside, darkside does not.

If darkside inferred topside as well the trick you're referring to would just be alleyoop darkside pornstar. Cause alleyoop darkside (farside topside) topside pornstar is rather redundant.
Also ttp & dark ttp are opposite spins. You name tricks by each step, like so: Direction of spin + darkside (or not) + topside (or not) + grind name.

So just to be clear, you would call a "farside sweatstance" a darkside mizou? Since darkside implied topside there'd be no reason to say topside again. Farside topsoul becomes darkside soul, etc.

Ao or truespin I don't want to get into because so few people do those tricks who cares, but I'd probably go with what it would have been if you'd approached from the regular side of the ledge instead of farside (eg farside true soul on a foot wide ledge is like a true soul from the normal side of the ledge, but you just jumped over the ledge to get there)

Why not just agree to merge the terms and Only use darkside because farside sounds less cool
Farside is less cool, so it fits. People already do use darkside for both, and their improper use is confusing.
Farmer does a few darkside grinds in his too much love 2 section.
