    This. Forever.

I heard this song for the first time yesterday. It's really good. Afterward, I looked up another song and didn't even make it through because it was another bullshit Latterman ripoff. NathanC should like this.

If I cried watching the movie Up (the part where Ellie dies) does that make me emo?

I like the serious stride this has taken.

I cried during Click when Adam Sandler died, because I hate thinking about how oned day I am going to lose my dad. I also hate thinking that one day I wont be around for my son.

I hate a lot more things now that I am a dad.... Are Dads emo?

listened to it. i've always hated sub-genres but i could/would easily classify that as "rock".

what sets emo apart aside from wimps who can't get over break-ups?

Emo = hardcore kids that love jazz and abstract poetry. The wimpy fags you describe don't play real Emo. Just think of it like how The Offspring aren't punk and Cradle of Filth aren't real blackmetal. The singer of Crimson Curse started the label ThreeOneG (Joy Division reference), which put out similar Emo bands but as time went on, they expanded to include all music he loves (goth, punk, hardcore, no-wave, etc).

    jazz and abstract poetry, huh?

sounded like a wimpy fag who cried somewhat well into a microphone over a funky groove.
i'm serious..the 2nd part was good, but merely a unique voice coupled with catchy rock.

    Morgan,

I relate to a lot of what you been saying lately. I just thought I'd let you know. Though I do not directly identify with it, I've done a shit ton reading and listening to everything I could get my hands on pre-vanity of what others thought. you do come off crusty some of the time. I k now you mean well.

Emo is like early Sonic Youth (Confusion Is Sex era) melded with hardcore.

    Mohinder

Camera Obscura (one of my all time favourite bands)

And then you have the weirder, goth/Birthday Party influenced emo bands like The VSS

Oh yeah, forgot Sonic Youth. This is from the only material that actually matters by them. This is the perfect example of what No-wave really is...America's take on industrial/post-punk.

hahaha crusty? Nice. Here's the problem with me. I grew up poor, living in the ghetto, dressed like Dave Vanian/Samhain era Glenn Danzig, read a lot and talked a lot of shit. Now I'm old and even grumpier.

Actually, The Cure would be correct, sir. It is bizarre to think that they were once one of the darkest bands ever to exist and record labels were scared to sign them because they were certain that the band was going to end up putting out a recorded suicide (and they did...Pornography LP). Then they go and record a bunch of bullshit for the next 20 years. Robert Smith even covered In Between Days (The Cure song) with Ko(backwards R)n.
