A brake saved my life (or at least considerable injury) just the other day. I am for them.
yeah, there are a lot of morons here, as in any city. but halifax is pretty new to cycling in general.
I was riding my bike through a "college town" neighborhood the other day and some ass clown yells to me
"Hey nice bike! It's too bad you have a brake on that thing"
The way he said it stirred up the same feelings that someone yelling "fruitbooter" does. I wasn't angry, it was more of a "really? this guy is serious?" kinda feeling.
If riding brakeless has become the socially accepted norm amongst a generation of retards, it makes me want to keep my brake on even more....not that I can imagine riding without one anymore
yeah, after yesterday's CM, i am going to keep my brake on. that was a fun ride, but i had to concentrate on going really slow and i realized that i suck at low speeds.
Did you ride in the MS150? I was going to but decided to skate that weekend instead
i have no brake on my bike right now, but my bike is done and i'm looking for another sooon.
haha no, it's just the nova scotia MS society's 60k. it's more of a leisure ride than anything, but i still have to have a brake. i plan to fill my camel back with some type of cocktail.Originally Posted by dyyylan
i too am brakeless. i also skate without a helmet. whatev.
if i ride in a group ride or something like the tour de donut or some other sponsored event i'll throw the brake on, otherwise my city conditions dont really warrant needing a brake for the type of riding i do.
as a matter of fact i dont ride with a helmet either. but i'll never be a faggot and make fun of someone who rides with a brake and helmet.
Fill it with Brass Monkey dude.Originally Posted by Special ED
hmm, i don't ride with a break but i do generally ride with a helmet. i think that if i were to choose one or the other thats the safer choice.
make sure you dont do something gay and mount a cross lever to your top tube
im over fixie bikes so many douche bags ride them these days but do still enjoy bike rides.

i hate wearing my helmet. it's a fucking law here which is fucked. it should be our choice. sounds lame, but i like a casual ride to work on my tan and now i can't do that.
