i too thought it was actually pretty good. i mean lets face it they could have completely ruined the movie. i do however kinda feel like the whole story of him saving his dad from annihilation was kinda weak but oh well.

It wasn't as bad as critics made it out to be. It could've been much better if they would've developed the Marcus Wright character more. Use 15 more minutes to develop his backstory so that we actually cared about him and his "Salvation" which I take is how they derived the movie title.

Yeah the title is interesting, why leave out the 4 and why introduce more religious overtones.

It would have been good to see what happened with Marcus killing his Dad and brother.
Im guessing they would have had more of his back story but focus groups they showed it to didnt care or it made them not like the character.

Yeah, and they really screwed up the time travel bullshit too. You don't have to save your dad in the future dickwad, YOU'RE THERE already.

He never said in the film he was saving his Dad to save his own life.

He said he didnt want to kill all the humans that were captured.

Nope, he was saying shit like "without Kyle, the future is lost" long before Kyle was captured and taken to Skynet's HQ. John completely believed what his mother had pounded into his head over the years. He truly believed that he would be the one to save the future and without him there would be no hope for mankind. If Kyle died before he was sent back to give birth to John then John would never grow up to be the leader of the resistance and thus he would never be able to save mankind from the machines.
