    Default clipless shoes, opinion.

so i have $50 to blow on amazon and i took a shot in the dark looking for these and i like how they look.

it would be for my all black fixed gear. i don't know much about what shoes are good. mu boss gave me some pedals that are more of a mountain pedal, but they will do the trick until i can get those lil ones that are little circles, can't remember the name.

Those won't work with your pedals. They take a large cleat like what Look pedals use. I think there is an adapter to use spd cleats with those, but you need to purchase separately.

they weren't exactly a mountain pedal. but they had plastic platforms clipped to them.

    here they are

This is the style that mounts to your shoes, notice the three holes.

I wouldn't get them for anything but a road bike (or mtb i guess, idk anything about that). they work great but are kind of annoying when you just want to ride around because you have to wear the shoes that you can't really walk in. just imo

I ride clipless on my mountain bike... it gives you so much more control and makes pedaling a lot more smooth.

you'll need SPD cleats for those shoes... any cycling shop should have them.

Shimano makes quality stuff, and you could get the spd pedal to work. But realistically unless you plan on only riding that bike at the track youll probably want something a little more universal.

i have cages, but i want something more connected. is there a shoe that uses a memory buckle something like roces? the pedals and straps i got for my road bike are a little nicer, maybe i will just switch to them after i try it out.

No memory buckles in cycling yet. I'm sure Sidi would be the first to adopt them, but be prepared to pay.

why the fuck would you ride clipless on a fixed bike? Fixed bikes are rode on the street for their functionality and simplicity.

Because clipless pedals are safer than cages and straps

    because they are lighter

because they look cool when you're off your bike.

I don't ride fixed at the moment, nor do I use clipless on my commuting bikes. I would only use them with a sport only setup.

clipless pedals are 100% for performance only. I ride my bike for fun/commuting so I would never get them

Don't you want to be able to get off your bike and walk around without sounding like you're tap dancing?

On mountain-style spd shoes, the cleats are recessed. On road shoes, especially the ones that take Look cleats, you'd be tip-tapping around.
