I kind of understand where you're coming from. Most people are pussies anyway. But dude, depression... people kill themselves because of this stuff. That's a serisous condition and they need treatment. It's not a good idea to tell them to "man up", I guess. Also, you have clearly never sat next to a child with ADHD while their meds wore off... It's a roller coaster of feelings like "Oh man, I want to kill this devil!" and "Woah, I feel so sorry..."...
^ I'm no expert in mental conditions and I've thankfully never been in a situation where I needed treatment so I can't judge on all these pills that are out there or wether or not it's a good idea to take them but yeah... It isn't as easy as black and white when it comes to teh brainz and teh soulz 'n stuff...
depression is also a chemical dissbalance in the brain. my mother suffers from real clinically diagnosed depression, and my mom is no weakling. went through a childhood with an abusive father and distant mother, was married twice, with my piece of shit father being the first husband, the second husband was a jackyll and hyde character that started beating her up right after they got married all in front of 5 year old me, they got divorced after only a few months. we were always on the brink of being relatively poor, and she managed to bring me up and see me get through high school and uni. after i moved out 6 years ago, she was fine for a few months, and then all of a sudden wouldn't get out of bed, wouldn't wash for days, wouldn't clean the house or was the dishes, she just slept and cried for days on end. and she also couldn't deal with other people, not even my aunt or me.
then she went on sick leave for four months, started going into therapy, and she's been on anti depressants since then. she's a lot better now, but now my aunt started having the same symptoms. she tried to commit sucide 35 years ago. so yeah, depression is no joke.
