I think it's important to know where the relationship is heading, and have a set date. I was in a one for 3 years and it was just too much. I would recommend just splitting up and being friends. If shit happens then it'll happen. I recently started being friends with cminor again. It's hard losing a best friend, which is why we never wanted to stop the long distant relationship even though it was tearing us to pieces.
