But I've never fired a gun before. *gasp I KNOW.

I would like to know what are you supposed to do to deal with recoil?

Are you supposed to have your arms slightly bent and when the bullet leaves the chamber cock your fore arm upwards or something?

Tight grip?

Just curious because some of the guns I've seen on teh be-mag are gnarly as hell and if I ever got to fire one my 5'6 150 pound ass would see the butt of that gun in my nose.

recoil is dealt with by holding the gun properly. the girl in the video didn't have a firm grip, was leaning back, and had her elbows out to the side forming a diamond shape with her arms, if you were to look at them from above.

ha ha that video is really old but I still laugh everytime. The picture posted above is the correct stance. There is even the "weaver" stance which is a variation of that but that's pretty much the best stance to have. A firm grip and correct stance will always allow for good recoil absorption and movement. I've fired some heavy recoil guns and never been hit in the face. Haven't even scoped myself yet. Knock on wood.

watch that pointer finger though. I've torn skin off my finger from the slide (got pinched in when the slide came back).
