Tikkas are supposed to be very accurate rifles...related:

If I order an XLR stock like this one for my T3, can I make them ship it to one of you guys then you ship it to me as a gift? The contact at XLR said this was a common process amongst customers from my part of the world (avoid extreme tax costs)

FUCK ME SIDEWAYS, that is some SEXY RIFLE right thar...must have this stock.

That is a sweet stock! The hand guard reminds me of an intervention.

I'd consider mailing one to you if you cover shipping.

BTW Espen, when doing some research on ammo. I found out that 7.62x51 is actually okay to shoot out of a .308. Its the other way around you have to be worried about. 7.62 is rated at 50,000 psi while .308 can go as high as 62,000 and still be within the SAAMI specs.

I'm not really a huge fan either. I don't think they make the national match version in a synthetic stock though. It'll hold over til my JAE comes in.

Thing is clobbered in factory grease. Not going to clean it until right before I shoot it though.

I don't think this is true for all rifles. What I've been told by everyone (military and civilian gundealers), is that the norwegian NATO 7,62 ammunition is loaded about 40% percent more powerful than most factory produced .308, and that the pressure in the chamber of a hunting rifle in .308 may severely damage your weapon system My friend has shot a few NATO rounds through his Blaser R8 and no problems, and a lot of people do this though.

I'm getting a .223 this year, and then I'll probably follow up with something more expensive and tacticOOl in .308 next year...or maybe even 300 Win Mag

ive been stumbling across ammunition technology for some reason a lot lately. teflon coated hollow points filled with mercury and shit. rounds that drill into the target and have stuff stickin out of the side of it like anchors. im more interested in this shit than the actual guns

want to get into it soooo bad

I've changed my mind yet again. Right now I'm leaning towards getting a Remington 700 sps tactical. As the money keep rolling in, I'll change the cheap hogue stock for an AICS chassis or a Roedale RCS 2 chassis. The XLR chassis turned out to be hard to get hold of without selling my soul.

Pretty much what I'm thinking, but with suppressor ofcourse.

Might duracoat the fuck out of it as well, tacticool as I am.

Getting a .308. Might as well get a caliber I can do everything with, and I can get subsonic ammunition in this caliber...and that is so tacticool and stealth it gives me a boner just thinking about it. Ducks won't know what hit them. I need a ghillie suit while I'm on it.

Yeah, can't wait to try this myself. In theory mine should make even less sound Getting the best suppressor I can get here in Norway. Lolz will be had at my cabin, none of my neighbours will complain.

I think I'm going to go look at reloading equipment after work today. My M1A's manual says not to shoot .308 out of it and 7.62x51 is costing me over a buck a trigger pull. I spent too much money on that rifle to f it up even slightly. Reloading is going to be my only viable option.

Looking at the Hornady Lock-N-Load press. Progressive press with locking bushings for your dies. You don't have to re-gauge everything after switching calibers because the bushings stay attached to the die.

Definitely not getting that massive case feeder though. They're almost as much as the press itself and doesn't save you that much time.

Handloading is obviously the way to go. I'll probably get "there" sometime as well...could be fun to try some different bulletweights and powdermeasures

My associate who knows more about guns than I do, told me the 700 tactical would eat NATO ammunition for breakfast. This will probably reduce ammunition costs in my case.

Yeah I need to order a case of surplus NATO 7.62 and just reload it. I hear the primer pockets are crimped and can be kind of a pain. But that's a one time deal. They make a tool to undo the crimping.

Was going to get that press yesterday but I came home to part of my fence laying on its side. My home owners insurance has a $1000 deductible.
