US Military calls the M2 the M68 I believe.

I had a comp ML2 for a while. They're definitely nice. I ended up selling it because I prefer the EOTech. You can't beat the ridiculous battery life of an Aimpoint though. Most people I know who own them never shut them off. It's something like 10,000 hours on a single battery.

I'm sure that is why they are standard issue with all M4s. You wouldn't believe how many people didn't know there is a battery.

I talked the guy into $1200 and picked it up today!

It's still quite a bit shorter than my AR with a 4" longer barrel. This optic works well with it too. Hopefully will get some range time with it this weekend!

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Chris Fortune again.

    lol thx anyway bro

Been out in the garage setting up my 5.56 reloading dies and powder measure.... shit is such a pain in the ass to change calibers. You have to dissasemble the measure and clean it completely (using different powders, mixing is a no no). Since I was going from 7.62 to 5.56, I have to change out the primer ram, shell holder, and some other crap. Only ended up getting 50 rounds done in about 2 hours. Since it was my first time doing 5.56, I had to adjust my new dies so they size and seat bullets correctly. Luckily that's a one time thing.

Makes me want to have a whole seperate press for each caliber.

These Hornady V-Max bullets sure do look cool though:

That is pretty much the only gun I'm willing to spend whatever it takes.

    FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I had a sick airsoft version. LOLz.
Is that an actual Steyr or is one of the other companies biting that bullpup steez? 5.56? Do they even make a civilian 9mm semi auto version?

This gun thread seems to have been far more successful than I'd expected- carry on.

It's a Microtech Small Arms Research STG-556. It takes AUG mags but that's about the only thing interchangeable. Which sucks because MSAR went out of business (Microtech still makes really nice knives though) so if something breaks I'm kind of SOL. It's also good as these have been climbing in price.

Yes it's in 5.56 and no I've never seen one in 9mm (either MSAR or Styer).

Having a hell of a time finding 30 round mags for it. Just won an auction for one off gunbroker for 40 + shipping. Thinking I just need to pony up and buy this package:

i've asked everyone else now I'll ask be-mag

    AK-47 or 1911?

i want something cheap, so a cheap 1911 and a cheap ak47 are around the same price (sub $500)
i don't hunt, i'm just going to shoot at paper
A cheap wasr-10/63 should fit my needs.
if i get a 1911 it'd be a rock island, they seem to be the best for the money.

so far leaning towards an ak. I don't have a centerfire rifle yet, and steel 7.62 ammo is cheaper than brass .45acp

I know a dude who put <500 rounds through a Rock Island 1911 and sheared a number of different internal parts.

    AK-47s are nukeproof.

Chris, buy that kit or stop posting on Be-mag and quit the internet.

We'll see. It's a helluva deal. The mags are worth more than $300 alone. Then I'd have a spare stock and trigger too. Too bad I just spent $92 on just two 30 rounders. I'm kind of broke after buying that thing though. Payday is Friday so we'll see.

I'd say AK as well Texas. I haven't heard many good things about Rock Island 1911's. I guess it also depends where you can shoot though. Lots of indoor ranges won't let you shoot steel ammo. Most places here will put a magnet to your bullets, if it sticks, you're not shooting it. Some ranges won't even let you shoot the steel cased stuff (even if the bullet is lead) because they want to recycle the brass that gets left behind. I get mean looks all the time picking up my casings so I can reload them.

My friends Dad has a Rock Island 1911 and he swears by it. He said he polished all the internals though. That's the only person I've heard speak highly of them.

Dude, get the AK. You already have a handgun, and handguns are nowhere near as fun to fuck around with as an assault rifle. Get distance, get accuracy, get reliability and get zombie protection.

Sub 200, that looks like a throw away, just scratch off the serials. I know y'all are pretty keen on your throw aways down there in the great state a Texas.
