    Default Help with old k2s......

Does anyone know what ufs soul plates would fit on some old king 55s? I love these skates, but the souls and frames are just to old school to ride........I was thinking valo soul plates, but would like to hear from someone who has some experience with these dinosaurs.

I'll let you know when I get mine. I got some CH 1 souls that may work but I'll test them then just slap back on the stock souls for sure.

I'm pretty sure the new fattys are designed identical to the old k2s with the exception of being ufs. I could slap those on, but they don't look any wider than the old k2 souls and they don't have teflon inserts which I'm sure would make them slow as an un-greased cock in a sun-parched moose knuckle.

I'm pretty sure the souls of the UFS Fatty's are glued to the boot. The k2 soul space is fine! If you are set on putting new plates I suggest a flat soul like a deshi plate, 2-pieces, xsjado, Razor gen 1pc(if you can figure out the bs plate). I really suggest keeping them stock.

The soul space would be fine if it weren't for the plastic bolt guards on the frames that stick out half an inch. I skated k2s for many years back in the day, but now I'm spoiled by the big souls on new skates, and want to be able to change the frames and give them a different look.

you could always saw off the frames and make a little channel for ufs frames if your risky...my buddy did that with some SP Bob's and some Naturals.

Got my King 55's and I seriously don't see what the big fuss is. The soul space is perfect not too big or too small. I still have all my negative tricks with grind plates on. The k2 soul feels so close to your foot it's amazing. And I do not know why people complain about how they are horrible for torque tricks, I was still able to hold it down with 60 mm's flat.

Just my opinion, I would rather have smaller soles that are closer to my foot that monster soles that have 2 inches of plastic from your heel to the ledge/rail.

The Kings have the endotech (internal) cuff structure so your options are much less restricted than with one of the exotech (250, spb, new fatty, natural, etc) skates.

Valo souls might be workable but the boot is pretty flat, the boot's not gonna like being propped up on that much heel rise, I'd dremel down the heel riser ridges inside the midsole and try to emulate the stock heel rise. The rear of the midsole will probably be too narrow for the heel of the King boot though.

I actually have a pair of minty Kings I snagged on ebay a while back, I'm not really even gonna skate them, let alone change the souls, but if I was I'd probably try some Carbon souls, in that blue (not teal) they're releasing, it'd match the pinstriping on the boot

Here's my recently procured kings................pretty mint too!! Half the reason I want to switch out the soul-plates is not only to make them custom but to keep the souls/frames fresh(because they're not replacable)

Not just opinion, cold hard fact. K2 design was 10 years ahead just like their slogan said.....pity they dropped the ball 10 years ago.

Safe, my school is 8 minutes from skatebarn. Hopefully I live within 15 minutes of my school, Renton Tech.

I've checked out the site and posted up on the message board but know one really applied with contact info or any local all day skates or what not.

Wednesday night is blade night at skate barn. 9pm, 4 bucks, all night. Usually a good turn out. My name is Zack Smith, my numbers under the local skaters section. I'll be out of town august 9-16, but hit me up after that and we can figure something out if you're down.

for sure man, it cleans up the whole look of the skate. Also, I threaded the cuff bolt through the skin on the backside for extra support.
