    Default mac users help

    i have a .avi file that wont empty out of my trash bin. it says its in use but ive never opened it. it was added on the date i uploaded the usd video legacy off the board, but im not sure if it has to do with that.


    ive even ended the "program" and it still wont gtfo of my trash bin.



    im stupid and need help

    just keep trying

    also check your menu bar at the top, some programs run in the background and might show up there, you can usually click their icon and end em

    otherwise take a screen shot of what's happening and we'll see

    pour coffee on your keyboard...itll get rid of that shit

    Restart and try to empty it. That'll kill any hidden processes that are using the file.

    this happens occasionally. simple fix.

    i cant recall if its CONTROL, OPTION/ALT key, or COMMAND.... but either way, you hold down one of those, THEN right click the can and empty. it will work like a charm.

    ya have to be holding (whichever one of those keys it is) down all the way through the process of right clicking, deleting, etc... then relase.

    nvm i threw the file into terminal.app in the utilities folder and it went way

    click on finder in the top left corner, then secure empty trash, that deletes any file.
