Fuck, those are like 2grand worth of skates up there.
And Wilk, those Solo LEs look pretty cool with the purple technology. Even the cuffs faded into a cool colour from the climate change, haha. I swear they were jet black when I sent them, haha. I still like the way the 45degree strap looks and I think it helps with the stock liner. Glad you like them, though!
Yea they are all mine. Lol if you look close 2 pair don't have cuffs yet....
Really there's only 2 original pair there and Ive sold one. I've made a few cf/Kevlar shells im skating/testing now
Those 2 sz 10 skins are fs. Btw
I think every liner is an improvement to the Valo liner...
Having an overly sensitive foot, the Trust liners are an amazing improvement over the valo liners...Especially from someone who is sizing down a shell size. I have incredibly flat feet which didn't allow me to comfortably skate a plastic Valo shell without sizing up and making things out of proportion. I have since sized down to a 9 Valo light comfortably. The stabbing feeling I had in the achilles area with the Valo liner is gone and the foot bed (after trimming) provides sufficient support and shock absorption. The only thing I am not too keen on is the lace system, but I am sure if I threw some hockey laces/regular shoe laces, it would be better. I would definitely try the Trust's or some Blank's
Valo light are one of the biggest joke ever made. How can you buy so many of them..? 1st JJ light is so shitty : liner rip after 1 session, skin rips so fast and quality of carbon is the worst.
Ive only bought 2 pair. I am now making my own shells vacuum bagged using prepreg carbon reinforced with kevlar and believe me they will never break still are light receptors will never spin or back out and fit me perfect as I've added layers and modded the inside to fit my foot better but NOONE would pay what it costs me in time let alone materials! A raw shell costs me about 60usd in materials to produce. Time to lay up a pair in the mold is about an hour, then curing, Then trimming the shell drilling the holes then installing lace eyelets, it wouldnt be worth my time to sell a pair of shells without cuffs for anything less than 300$
And I'm sure some of you on here would find something to bitch about.... There is no way a mass produced carbon shell could reach perfect quality at a price point. And like it or not 360 something for a valo light isn't a bad price considering. And valo support is awesome, they sent me a whole new skate to replace my cracked shell and only asked I send the shell back letting me keep my old skins baseplate buckle and liner. Do that with a carbon 2 or 3. People aren't ready to pay what a "proper" carbon skate costs.
As for the trusts I love em but they do not work without some work, unless you size down (which doesnt work at all for me) the cuff area doesn't have enough padding to stay in the boot correctly resulting in pretty bad heel lift. To fix this I added some layers in my carbon shells around the heel area and some stick on padding inside the cuff. Point being if you don't downsize a shell don't expect these to for right in your shell, they will be loose, and don't expect to be able to downsize as not everyone can.
gettin' my groove on
"I reflected that man is the veriest slave of custom, and that many points in the routine of his existence are deemed essentially important, which are only so at all by his having rendered them habitual"
I think they are joke because they don't feel any lighter than normal valos to me, and that's what people are paying for...1 pound lighter, 100 bucks more. But they do look dope, skate just like any other valo, got a little more room to boot. Cool setups man.
Dayum...?
