This is just crazy. Kaya Turski just won the Women's skiing slopestyle final at the Winter X Games 2010 in Aspen. The 21-year old Salomon-Pro has raised the bar for women’s slopestyle today with three amazing and solid runs on this massive course at Buttermilk Mountain. All of her three runs had scores in the 90s!
This gold medal is simply the result of Kaya’s dedication and hard work. In 2006 she has suffered some severe internal injuries due to a bad fall during the ICER Air event in San Francisco. However, Kaya has toughtened up since then and has worked hard to become one of the world’s leading female skiers. In 2009 she already placed third at the Winter X Games, not even knowing that she will take the gold medal the following year. Congratulations for this big and well-deserved triumph from the whole Be-Mag crew!
As most of you may know, Kaya is not only popular for her skiing talent, but also known for her groundbreaking rollerblading skills. Kaya started rollerblading when she was 8 years old, she even stopped skiing for some time because of rollerblading. D-Structure noticed Kaya’s talent early and took her on the D-Structure-Team which gave her the chance to come up with a sweet profile:
Kaya also caught the attention of Jochen Smuda who put her on the allys team. To make a long story short: Kaya is an amazing athlete and we hope that she is coming up with some rollerblading-footage this upcoming summer.
