Ground Control Video 'GC.1' by Simon Mulvaney: Damien Wilson Profile
Riddle me this: why can't Broskow be G on Roces too? Ok fine, he made a change, fair enough argument, but still I'm confused as to whether the punk/emo style is a phase or if eventually it will be the lone ranger Jeff Stockwell, the inventor of the tight clothing punk style, going solo til the end. Like a G Stockwell never needed to change his steez, OG so he don't need clothing to a leader, no gold piece, just Stockwell and the shady mustache, ready to Mack on your lady, dressed like 1980, but ready with a machete and a old fashioned pipe filled with wacky tobaccy.
Alex Brokow is a master at his craft but his style is lacking. He looks like a young Joe Dirt with his raggedy choice of gutter-punk clothes and rat-tail. This is not seen as smooth or fresh to the outsider looking in.
what mr dino. fails to realize is that all trends come back, and if u really believe in something, or sometime, then stay in it and maybe 1 every decade u'll be cool for a season. If that's not appealing to you (like most of us) dig deeper into what u see style as, and make your own definition.
broskow looked g on rb back in the day, then roces came around, and his unique style started to show, then valo, the me, is the point of mastery. roces was his weakest point, but define him as far as style goes.
If it don't look good, don't do it. The way I see it is like this: Go big, grab a few style points, and always remember the days when rollerblading was accepted in society. The days when people in rollerblading only listened to dope hip hop and random pump you up rock music. The days when bladers put extra tongues cut out from old shoes and stuffed them into Oxygen Argons, matched with fat laces to make their cross-grabbed backside torque grind look extra steezed out. The days when kids in this industry knew what steez even was. The days when Chris Farmer dressed like a Gangster, skated like a Gangster, and in my opinion was much more respectable in that style and more of a role model for kids. When you think about the style nowadays compared to back then it's very evident as to why we can't get as much attention: we've become immune to the fact that rollerblading no longer focuses on making shit look smooth, it's almost like a joke if you watch Elements 2, Espionage, Coup De Tat. Let's bring fresh back, let's get sic wit it!
