Chris Haffey Cali tour part 5 of 7: Celebrating Intuition’s 10th anniversary

Another great tour day for Chris and Kato. Intuition prepared well for their visit, even coming up with a special tour present! Check below what went down in “Bladersfield”.

What a motivating day, I don’t know where to start. When you deal with people as motivated and dedicated as Matt Mickey all you can do is enjoy every second of it.

OK so the waves rocked us in bed until noon and after filming a little interview with Juan we left Pismo Beach and headed east towards Intuition Skateshop in Bakersfield.

The drive was beautiful, mountains of central California filled with yellow, purple, and orange wildflowers. It is as if someone had painted the mounts with a huge brush.

It just happened that our tour coincided with Intuition’s 10th year anniversary, we both knew that this was going to be very special. Matt and I met in the late 90s, shortly before Intuition was born. He came down to San Diego and visited the old Remz warehouse where I was working with BBell and Brian Jaggers at putting skates together one by one and by hand. This was also around the time Chris Haffey began to skate Remz, he was about 14 years old.
10 years later here we are, all together, celebrating great things and ready for even greater ones.

Matt has worked on promoting the event properly with mailings, web promo, and free Chris Haffey posters for the fans. He prepared an autograph booth, gathered a big crowd who gave Chris a lot of respect, brought out the great 20foot box for the occasion, prepared a barbeque for all, invited a famous local TV newscaster to interview Chris, and as if all that wasn’t enough he surprised everyone with an amazing custom made Haffey2.0 signature cake that all the bladers shared.

Surely everybody present in Bakersfield today will remember this Intut10n anniversary with Chris, so much happened that I hope I’m not forgetting anything. Not sure what to write to thank Matt Mickey enough for everything he did for us and all the locals today, as well as everything he does for blading everyday.
