Julian Bah was recently promoted to the Razors Pro Team family. Some people say that this was long overdue. Insiders keep telling us that one of the best sections on the Game Theory flick is Julian's section. For us, there was definitely one thing overdue: An exclusive interview. So here we go. And to get you the full taste of Julian's life we found no one else than Coco Sanchez to deliver the questions.
In the rolling world there is a lot of hype on the South America scenes recently. And that's simply justified. The scene below the equator is ripe and thriving right now. Earlier this year we featured the NIMH South America tour through Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru here on be-mag. Now Razors adventures the trip to South America as well. With their first tour stops in Chile they turned a whole national rolling community inside out. Make sure you check out this tour stop and you can already look forward to some more coverage (soon on be-mag exclusively) from this country which ranges over 39 lines of latitude from the North to the South. Thanks to William Lobos and his friends for all the work they put into this update. This update not only features the beauty of our sport, it features the beautiful things that comes with rollerblading: intercultural friendships, memories and experience.
It has now been well over a year and a half of filming for the new Razor video, Game Theory. Over this time period we have literally traveled around the world with some of the best skaters on the planet making what I know will be an epic skate video. Love them or hate them the Razors team is composed of some of the hardest workers and the most unique individuals I’ve ever met, which is why I believe the team is so complete. Everyone has their own style, outlook on life, and a certain way they like to skate but when we all come together everyone is able to connect. What this does is allows everyone to learn from each other and obviously skate better. With the video deadline approaching everyone is anxiously anticipating the release of the video and even though the amount of tricks everyone needs has been met, the whole team is still motivated to go out and skate everyday in hopes of making their section even stronger. Personally, I’ve never spent so long filming for a video and I think that will be shown through the video with such a wide array of tricks, scenery, and style. I’m so happy to be part of this project and I think the video will be something that we can all be proud of.
Recently a recent guest of our city ran an article entitled “San Diego Scene Report” that ruffled a few feathers around here. His article featured very few of the skaters, industry and importance that san diego has in rollerblading. I’ve lived here my whole life and have been a part of the SD blade scene for over 15 years. So when the boys over here asked me to do the real scene report, I thought that I could do a little better, and pay some tribute to perhaps the most important city in our sport.
Andy Wegener, the man behind Razors, is a hard man to nail down for an interview. He's a good guy, but doesn't say a lot on the record. However, we checked in with Andy very quickly at this year's Bitter Cold Showdown just to see what he and the Razor's team have planned for 2010. Thanks, Andy! -B
In Mallorca to get to see the best international skating we have always been used to having to move around and travel the closest to Barcelona. Our island is very appreciated by tourists from all around the world, because of its huge landscapes and incredible beaches; but us, the local skaters have never had the oportunity to see the big names skate our spots. With no doubt yesterday was a day none of us will forget. Just to see the faces of the youngest rollers observing their heroes that so many times the have seen in videos skating their plaza.
Every Monday, Tuesday and Friday or so there is a skate session going down in the SDSF skatepark in Escondido. Every week people are coming together for a cool night session...

The International Razors Pro Team will be on tour through Germany from July 2nd to 9th. On July 8th Brian Aragon, Chaz Sands, Mathias Silhan and Stefan Horngacher will come to one of Western Germany's finest Skateparks, the Rheinpark Skatepark, located in Duisburg (Germany). The Razors Team is looking forward to meeting you. Austria's finest Gabriel Hyden will be joining the Razors Team on their trip as the tour filmer. He will make sure you get your clip with your Razors idols. So come out, say hello to the Razors Team and have a chilled and relaxed session with them. See you on July 8th in Duisburg!
