Preparing for months for one of the biggest competitions in Florida, Bladesgiving has turned out to be one of the funnest and biggest rollerblading events in the Southern United States along with the Pow-wow. And we are only in our second year! Skaters gathered from all over the country for a chance to rank up the WRS points and take home some cash and the huge trophy. Tim Franken, out of San Diego, Razors rider Wake Schepman, out of PA, Pro SSM rider Joey Chase and Razors flow Sammy Chase, out of Orlando, just to name a few. Also, coming all the way from Canada was our good friend Kevin Lapierre, who hurt his ankle warming up, and had to drop out of the contest. He made that huge trip, and our sympathies are with him, and we hope he recovers very soon.
David Sizemore has been "good" for some time now, but as you know being good doesn't always make you accepted amongst your peers. I don't think anyone can say just what "it" is that makes you accepted in our culture. Tightness of pants, choice of slang, style of hair, who you hang out with, what your elbow is doing when you land. Styles have changed so drastically since my days as a "youth", I don't really know what's acceptable these days.
HoHoHoes is the diamond in the rough of American skate contests. The exclusivity brought in professional skaters like Mark Wodja, Michael Braud, Dre Powell and Montre Livingston to name a few. There were southern legends who have not attended an event in years, like Josh Amacher, Garret Slobey etc. Large groups of skaters from 8+ states flew or drove to Atlanta in order to be in attendance... Above all, rollerblading (sic.) competitions unite. Undoubtedly, this is the reason everyone likes to attend these events. Getting to see your friends, your favorites, and in my case, favorites that just happen to be friends. Getting that warm smile from Franco Cammayo, which in turn through some kind of osmosis gives me...
There is nothing better than finding a new spot. A few months ago while cruising around Gwinnett (the county I live in) I stumbled across an international food store that had recently purchased custom welded shopping cart rails.
Atlanta is one of the definite hotspots for rolling and has proved it's place in the world of rolling. Follow a 10 day trip to Atlanta from staff photographer Philipp Forstner and see what happens there.
Here is a cool edit featuring Atlanta shredder Richard Williams. The edit is a good promo for Rollerblade and calls for some more coverage of the TRS Flow rider.
Adam is one of my favorite bladers to watch and to film with. He is a rare breed that not only likes to think outside of the box at any given spot, but also likes to take suggestions about tricks to do. It is not uncommon, upon rolling up to a spot, to hear him say "Ok, tell me something tight to do here" and then marvel you after your proposal. Because of these reasons, Adam garners my upmost respect as he should from the rest of the blading community. Real talk. -Jamie Olmstead
Some unused footage from 2010 of David Sizemore, Julian Bah, Mike Harper, Cody Porche, Chris Smith and Carson Starnes. Filmed and edited by David Amkhinich.
Wojda, Bah, Sizemore, Breuer, Livingston & Braud all rippin' it up at this years HoHoHoes in Atlanta. Nothing out of the ordinary you say? Well, this time they're doin' it on horribly wet ground.
This Atlanta based contest somehow attracted a lot of people and therefore quite a few hammers. Check it out.
Fellow roller Kareem Shehab who also happens to be a pro biker has opened up his own shop Loose Nuts Cycles in Atlanta.
Quoting from the Street Mechanics Apparel blog: "I bet a lot of you didnt see this coming but then again I talked about it for a min now. But he is by far one of the most outspoken, funniest, and realest guys in the game and you don't get as far a Kevin Dowling is without staying real. One of a handful of homies from my era still reppin the game till the death I give you "King Dirty" Kevin Dowling."
Check out this inaugural edit of Richard Williams in which he shreds some serious street spots on his new sponsored Rollerblade skates.
PARK2 unites some of the best park skaters from all around the globe and makes them online available for free! This project is realized by a huge list of editors and filmers. Check the staff list below the videos. After releasing the Intro and the Woordward part, Denial now comes up with some more parts. Dig into the world of Rollerblading! Great collaboration.

We were lucky enough to create this event with Carson Starnes starting last year and last year's competition got crazy. We wanted to make everything bigger and better this year. We have more prize money this year and we know our local organizer Carson has got some new stuff up his sleeve for next weekend's competition!
