So, this is it? The 15th and final Showdown at the Hoedown, or at least at the current location. It's been a great ride, and I agree it may be time to move on. I've managed to attend all but the first Hoedown, and every year I am impressed by not only the level of skating, but the level of community this event brings. It might start with the fact that Eisenberg's Skatepark is a family run park and Miss Vicky, Arlo's mom, is in attendance cheering on the skaters with the rest of us. Whatever it is I want to personally thank everyone who has ever been to a Hoedown be it to skate, watch, or just get drunk in the parking lot – we call it tailgating in Texas – it's been a lot of fun.
The first ever Donate and Skate charitable rollerblading event took place in Cedar Park, Texas on April 16th 2011. The goal of the contest was to provide rollerblades to those interested in the sport, but who might not have the funds readily available to buy brand new skates. Instead of a contest entry fee, competitors donated used skates, wheels or frames. Then, during the contest, the nice staff of Rec N Roll Skateshop helped match up the pieces and assembled skates for those in need. It was great seeing so many kids excited about picking out their own parts and trying on their new skates. A few brave kids even tried rolling the skatepark for their first time – it was a beautiful sight!

Remz' finest flow riders from North America delivered some great action on the BCSD-court in Detroit during a Pre-Session. One thing here is clear: After watching this edit, you really want to skate that park as well. REMZ FLOW RIDE...
The 15th and final Hoedown. This year it was pretty much a TX comp and it just shows how strong the scene is here. Props to John Sullivan for taking the win! -Anthony Medina

Here is a recap of Day 5 and 6 of the Remz team on the road throughout Texas. Edit by Jason Reyna.
"Footwork" is an online video that has been in the making for a few months now. Texas has tons of unseen talent along with a lot of big names. I decided to get a good mix of bladers with very different styles that would be able to come out and film enough for a section. With so many Texas videos coming out such as "swag", "the city never sleeps", "lst", and "Au" it was hard to get skaters committed for this video but I couldn't be happier the turnout and devotion from these bladers.
Check out this nice park edit with Brady Johnston.
Check out this nice montage edited and filmed by Kristian Payne. Featuring: Zach Pavel, Troy Maimone, Geof Greenleaf, Jaysin Williams, Rene Rulvacaba, Jiovanni Brown, Jason Reyna and Brady Johnston.
