The #1 gratification for doing these street comps is recognizing the great talent the rollerblading world has to offer. Achosen-Few likes to personally recognize the talents of each of the top 3 competitors from all the Chosen Few competitions this year. If you or your friend finished top 3 at any ACF comp expect to see his name in this article. Curtains up for Tyler Hester, Anthony Luna, Russell Day, Cyril Daniel, Daniel Henderson, Lucas Landthaler, Arsenio Patterson, Mark Wojda, Shane Thompson, Eugen Enin, Beat Schillmeier, Iain McLeod, Alex Burston, Michael Braud, Dylan Hopp, Bartek Zgrzeblak, Jon Erickson, Chris Murphy, Jose Henriquez, Dan Mclaren, Robin Weber, Russell Dineen, Tom Burch, Jon Fromm, Bartek Kasprzycki, Pat Curran, Blake Taylor, Cameron Card, Elliot Stevens, Danny Figgz and Stephane DeFreitas.
When us skaters talk about doing it right or being professional Zach Nelson and Matt Farnworth are people that come up quick under that definition. They are the owners of We Are One skate park. A skate park completely built by them personally for rollerbladers. This indoor park was professionally done. Nice wood, good coping, everything slides for a change even before you wax it, It's like skating woodward. So ACHOSEN-FEW.COM decided to team up with them to do a nice crazy competition the first week they officially opened the park. We decided to make the format a street format considering it is a part of the Chosen Few street comp series.
Erik Bill has been working tirelessly over the last few months to complete his most recent video "Dayshapes" which features profiles on Cameron Card, Dan Dickerson, Nicholas Swan, Phil Davidson, Jeff Stanger, Erik Bailey and himself. Read this interview by Cameron Card to find out more about the project and how juiced Erik is to bring you his latest release. Oh, and there's another trailer, too.
Cameron Card is a rollerblader who has a constantly evolving perspective on skating. For Cameron skating is about being fun. It allows him to travel, make friends and capture all the great moments life has to offer. In my own experience, many of the small sessions I have had with Cameron have been most memorable because of how he is able to inspire new life into any obstacle for the sake of a good time. This positive perspective towards skating makes it impossible not to envy the relationship Cameron has with skating. Cameron's confidence, smoothness and general ability to see potential in all obstacles make the experience of watching his skating in any situation surreal.
Here comes the Rollerblade view on the BCSD 2011 contest. Experience the contest from the TRS Team perspective. Enjoy it.
I saw Erik Bill’s most recent DVD, I WAS A CLOUD, a little while back., and although it was a bit lengthy, I remember it being quite good overall...
Japanese rollerbladers had my respect long before I stepped foot on their small island. Chiaki ito was my idol as I was developing my own style. In Japan the steeze is unbelievable, tricks are executed perfectly and landings are solid and clean. Are they born with this ability?
Cameron Card is a name that stands out in the rollerblade world. He's that guy who's forgotten what foot is regular. I don't understand how he has to go ahead and lace everything both ways. ..
This is the second Blood, Pride & True review. If you have not decided weather to buy this DVD or not this might help you. Sixwonsix has been around for ever, and by looks of this DVD they aren't going anywhere any time soon.
We got two reviews for the new SixWonSix DVD 'Blood, Pride & True'. It is always good to hear more than just one opinion about something. This first review is by Mike Torres from Roc City Skate. The second review will be published soon!
There was a bit of virtual controversy over the online release of Erik Bailey's Dayshapes section a while ago. Kids were saying that I released it too soon and that "I made my money off the video so I released it to fuck the shops over". That is stupid... the video had already been out for 7+ months so anyone who wanted to buy it initially...had bought it. Releasing Erik's part Generated Sales for both me and the shops. Thanks to the shops and to those of you who bought the video! No thanks to blind ignorance. Here's Cameron Card's section. Hope ya' like it! -Erik Bill
Cameron Card just uploaded his latest profile edit. Supported by the industry, but most importantly, his wife and family, Camerons passion for rolling has never been so strong. Check it out in Cameron Cards sweet edit.
Cameron Card has uploaded an edit featuring some of the early footage from his section in Erik Bill’s film Dayshapes. The Denial rider has been killing for years and, even though he has had some horrific injuries over the past few years, he is still going strong.
Before moving east for college, Cameron Card takes one last look back at his experience within the Utah skate scene. From his camera to your eyes you get your own peek into the salty state’s brotherhood of bladers. This is something we can all relate to as the close knit brotherhood within Utah is what we all feel and connect to within our own scene. It is hard moving on from a family like that to a new place. What makes blading so special is that even in an instance where we have to start fresh in a new world the skating community is always there waiting with open arms of camaraderie.
Here is another edit featuring a session with Cameron Card, Nicholas Swan, Jeff Stanger, Zach Nelson, Tad Tregeagle & John Dickerson at the blader-owned 'We are one Skatepark'.
Outstanding edit by Erik Bill with many sick tricks including skaters like Erik Bailey, Cameron Card, Dan Dickerson amongst others. After watching this you'll ask yourself how you were able to handle so much steez.
Here we go with Cameron Cards and Chris Olpins example edit for the "I Just Love 2 Roll" contest. For more informations check out the link below:
Sweet edit of Chris Olpin from Utah. Tall man steez.
Phillip Long just posted up the Sin City contest edit featuring Russel Day, Ian McLeod, Chaz Sands, Cameron Card, Jeremy Soderburg and many more. Three different spots, lots of hammers and a great vibe! Looking forward to Sin City part 2!
The Sin City Session event took place this past weekend in Las Vegas, NV. Setup and organized by Vegas ripper Chris Calkins. Skaters showed up from Cali, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, and even the midwest. Grass roots events like this are great for blading, and doing it in a place like Vegas, you can’t go wrong. Check out the report on the Revolution site!
