As 2011 draws to close, we can look back fondly on a year full of incredible edits. Hammers have been laid and creative lines have been laced. So while you’re recovering from the festive celebrations, crack open another can and have a look back at this small reminder. Here are the ten most popular videos from 2011!
'Fester' is a video starring Damien Wilson, John Bolino, Casey McFarland, Lyle Shivak, Joey Chase and me, Nick Wood. For this project we did it the old fashion way, by getting a bunch of tough ass bladers together and putting in over a year of blood, sweat and tears. This is a preview of the "Blood, Sweat and Tears" part. I appreciate the newer style and trendy skating these days, but our guys – like I said – are hard core and still put their ass on the line when shooting for a video.
I don't know about the rest of the world but in the US Lyle Shivak is a very respected OG skater. He has paid his dues and contributed many of his own innovations to our sport. For some reason in his +10 years of shooting sections in some of the top videos of the decade he has never been a main stream pro. He laced the first 360° Fish ever in a video in the 2001 Daily Bread video "Under The Influence", And pioneered many more of the now termed "Spin to Win" tricks.
The tour started off by picking up Damien Wilson and Casey aka "Nut" McFarland at JFK airport on Monday afternoon. I definitely thought the flight would be delayed, but there is nothing stopping wild boys from Santee from a party. For an hour we cruised around in this infamous air train going around in circles ending up lost in the tube.

This is the intro for the Fester Team Video. We made it just a Trailer for the whole Video because in real life thats what intro's are. So don't go b*tching about how the tricks here are also in the sections. We had a song picked for the intro for a long time but at the last minute I heard this one and knew it was the right feel for Fester. Revolution Team Rider Casey McFarland is someone who is always on the move. He is constantly traveling, whether it's to film for a weekend in Cali, or spend 3 months in South America, it's non-stop. Lately, he's been working for the Chicago Cubs Baseball team, where we were able to sit down with him at his work, and film his "On The Spot."
