2013 is the year of collaborations in the Blading industry and Be-Mag is at the helm of this movement. We're proud to introduce another effort to grow and strenghten our sport by teaming up with Germany based wheel company Chimera to release another great product, the Chimera × Be-Mag Collaboration Wheels.
On October 20th the biggest German blade event 2012 will take place in Cologne. Well-known bladers from all over Europe will rock the city. We met the main organizer Marco Sichau to find out where the idea for this event came from and what will make this event new or special.

A man covered in tattoos who's always dressed in black and constantly throwing himself at rails all over the globe. You may have heard of this new skate brand from the Netherlands, 'adapt'. You may also already be friends with them on facebook. If the latter is the case, you might have noticed that they weren't providing too much info about what they were actually brewing over there in Holland. Well, this now changes with this very Company Profile on Be-Mag. Olga Bouwhuis and Pieter Wijnant founded adapt 20 months ago because they saw potential for hand crafted skates made from high quality materials. And here they are now, explaining to us where this has taken them so far.
Dave is one of these metropolitan suburb kids that have the rare talent of using their skates in a very natural way; it seems that this kid has concrete in his veins. He doesn't slam, he falls like a cat, always landing on his feet. He has the ability to grind longer and faster than most of us. Growing up in one of the toughest neighbourhoods in Berlins East End, 'Marzahn', Dave found a way to use Rollerblading as an art of moving and stepping out of the grey everyday life Marzahns monotonous architectured slabs entail. Combining raw rail skating, parkour and fluid ramp skating as his basics, he got a wide range of tricks and possibilities to push his own limits. And this is just the beginning...

Having a print publication to show off the sport to outsiders is as important to Blading as a page on the internet where everyone can get their daily dose of Rolling. Many people are contributing to Be-Mag each month to keep the project alive and make it the longest running source for Blading content in print and on the net. With the core team of Be-Mag doing it for the love – and all contributors also working for free – there are still costs that occur. Paying for the servers, programming cost, countless other things that result in a huge sum each month. Needless to say it costs a small fortune to print a large number of magazines and distribute it all over the globe.
Benjamin Harmanus created the Mast Incident IV video in 2006 featuring some of Germany's best rollers as well as some international rolling stars. Now Benjamin will release the video step by step on his vimeo online channel - he already posted up the intro and Chris Weber's section. Check it out.

If you're not from Berlin, here is another reason to hate Mondays. Hedonskate is having its first session in the Skatehalle Berlin in collaboration with Berlin based companies The Black Jack Project and Chimera Wheels on February 27th.
First held in 1995, one of Europe's longest running events is back again for 2012! With main supporters Grindhouse and Hamburger Volksbank, this year's X-Mas Jam will once again provide a good time for contestants and audience from all over Europe. All for the purpose of celebrating the sport, having fun with friends and closing the blading season with a Bang!
