First of all, it has been like a year since our a great tour. At first, it was uncertain if we’d even be able to go or not. But, we lucked out and everything came together to make tour and the Try to Roll Contest happen in 2011 for us. Kicking it off, we headed straight to BCN.
For three years the Skate Association Germany has organized the Grindhouse Miniramp Masters. The German rollerblading club is a nonprofit organization whose members spend their free time voluntary to organize the series across Germany. It takes a strong volunteer effort to set up a nationwide series. In its first year, the Grindhouse Miniramp Masters had five tour stops, mostly held in Northern and Western regions of Germany. The second year’s series spread the five tour stops across a wider area of the country. As a non-profit organization, SAG depends on strong partnerships with its partners to put together the best possible competitions. The Grindhouse Miniramp Masters kicked off with its first tour stop in Leipzig, Germany on April 14th.
Check out this edit from Grindhouse giving you some eyecandy on the 2012 Winterclash. By Daniel Prell
We're not sure if Daniel Prell has ever missed a Winterclash. Probably not. But we do know that 2012 won't be the year he starts slacking. Competing, filming, editing, drinking? All at the same time...? Daniel sure has a gift for multitasking. Or at least he's in need for it...
Be-Mag has teamed up with Bulletprufe Skate Denim to bring you yet again another prize raffle. This time up for grabs: a brand new Bulletprufe jeans of your choice! 'Blackout', 'Killer Bees' or 'Midnight Blue'? Just a few clicks and one of them could be yours!
For this years Grindhouse trip I had something different in mind as what we did in the past years. I didn’t want to tour through Europe, but spend a few days in the mecca of our sport and have a good time there without having the stress of driving the car from one city to another.
The World Rolling Series has introduced a new addition to their already successful competitive format. 'Uploaded', a online video format, allows competitors from around the world to upload their own edits in order to win prizes and points within WRS. It combines the concepts of mass generated edits over the recent years with people who want to compete in a different scope. There are those who express their riding best in front of crowds under the pressure of direct competition, which in the past have been the ones able to succeed in a competitive nature. Now, those who work best in front of the camera at their own pace have the opportunity to find competitive success where it did not exist before. WRS representatives Daniel Kinney and Kato Mateu got together with Be-Mag with the intention of answering some questions and cracking open all that is 'Uploaded.'
How often have you ruined your favorite jeans while out skating? If you're anything like, we're sure that it has happened plenty of times. Charlotte resident Will Fisher got tired of this problem and took the opportunity to start 'Bulletprufe Skate Denim', a company that manufactures jeans exclusively designed to meet the demands of street skaters. We checked in with Will to find out what the deal is with the company and if his jeans are in fact "tough as nails, soft as butter". We also asked Bulletprufe team rider Daniel Prell if his grandma approves of his new jeans.
Every single year the Grindhouse team embarks upon a road tour. This year's tour took the German Grindhouse team to Europe's rolling mecca, Barcelona. There, the crew consisting of Sacha Lopez, Daniel Prell, Maik Lojewski, Timm Kittlitz, Alex Rudolf and Daniel Gourski destroyed every obstacle and party place in their path. You know the deal: When the Grindhouse is on tour, madness is the daily routine. Here you can peep the first part of the "Grindhouse Tour 2011 in Barcelona"-series featuring Sacha Lopez. Sacha injured his hands some days before the tour, but obviously this didn't hold him back.
The Chosen Few Germany competition had a big turn out. We had right around 300+ people there and the competition was a success. Grindhouse was our premium sponsor for this competition. Thanks to them we had a pretty good cash prize for our top places. Chosen Few comps have a few twists that make the competition a little more difficult but also a little more rewarding.
Daniel Prell attended a miniramp competition a few weeks ago... and won it. Some people say, his tricks were unconventional. Peep edit!
