Although relatively new to the spotlight, CJ has had wheels under his feet since the beginning, and has been competing internationally for over a decade. Starting at such a young age and skating in the shadows of Australian legends like Cesar Mora and Matt Salerno has left CJ with an unmistakable natural style for skating, especially on transition. Since returning to his blades in 2005 – after a short break for beach lifestyle – in just a few years, CJ has refined his skills and established himself as one of the worlds top bladers. CJ's skills on the blades are undeniable, even to the outsider's eye, but what makes his skating even more enjoyable to watch is the fact you can tell how much he loves it. CJ still has the same passion for skating as he did when he first started, which I think is what's needed to inspire the next generation of skaters.
The Goulburn Fruit Jam, held in outback Australia for the second time running, never ceases to surprise me. We pick quite a good skatepark, in the middle of nowhere, and a whole bunch of rollerbladers turn up from all over Australia. This is the type of dedication we see in rollerbladers all over the world, we'll mission anywhere to just make it to a comp and catch up with our mates. This year was no different, with even more rollers coming from even further corners of Australia than last year.
About a decade ago I met this guy somewhere on the streets of Regina. Where, when, and how must be as dull as the city itself, for I lack the memories. But I do hope all the other experiences and knowledge I've gained from knowing such a person will stick with me forever.
This is the first of what we hope to be many a road trip, featuring the British Conference skate team. This time we journeyed for forur days across the South East coast of the UK and to the nation's capital, London. A huge thanks to our team who made it down for the ride; Blake Bird, Matt Smith, Neil Ingall, Nick Lomax, Sam Tuffnell and the newest addition to our nomad crew, Elliot Stevens! -Adam Kola
Over the past 18 months or so I've been filming a fair few things, which I had initially hoped to use in some sort of project of my own. But after donating a few to various people to use online, and losing around 40% of what I had when my hard drive blew up, I decided it was probably time to make a little something before the footage was too dated. -James Sharp
