Only 16 days until Summerclash... that’s only a little more than two weeks. The weather is finally getting better, the last sponsoring deals are getting finalized, our tradeshow partners confirmed and the street course is planned. We are almost ready to welcome our guests from around 30 different countries for that one special weekend in the summer of 2013! In case you haven’t been following the Summerclash website and Facebook, here’s a little recap!
After the madness of the Shred Cologne contest just two months earlier, the final German Masterships session of the year had a lot to live up to. The frozen streets and horrible weather weren’t putting anybody off, with bladers from almost all of Europe showing up to destroy the I-Punkt Skateland for the 2000 € prize money. German competitors were also battling for the title of German Champion for 2012 and the standard was – predictably – furious.
You can now watch another part of the Be-Mag production 'Traitement' online, featuring none other than Danish powerhouse Jacob Juul. Jacob annihilates every spot put in front of him, always eager to push himself to take his blading to new heights. Filmed and directed by Jonas Hansson, Jacob's part in the video gives you an understanding of the mindset of someone that can do anything he wants on a pair of skates.
Ever since the first rolling videos hit the market in the early '90's, certain releases – such as 'The Hoax' and VG installments, or later published milestones like 'Coup de Tat' and 'Brain Fear Gone' – have changed not only the way people tend to look at and think about the specific scenes and rollerbladers portrayed, but also rolling culture itself. Even though I think it's too early to say what long term effect the release of GC.1 will have on the rolling world it undoubtedly has heightened my expectations regarding filming and video graphic techniques. Adding the extremely high production quality to the skills of one of the best teams in rollerblading yet, the math basically does itself. The Ground Control team video represents the passion and hard work Jon Elliott and his crew have put into their dream, resulting in one of the most spectacular videos to date.
The Hedonskate Team took the trip to Eindhoven, Netherlands, to not only bring some green flavour to the competition but also to updrade the competition with one of their top athletes, Nils Jansons. Here is the official Hedonskate view on the Winterclash 2012.
Are you as excited about the new Ground Control video as we are? You probably should be. For over a decade Ground Control have been leading the pack in frame design and have become a staple in the rollerblading community. In order to commemorate the videos release we’ll be giving away three free copies in a prize raffle!
We're really excited to bring you the news of 'Traitement' winning the Danish Adventure Film Festival! Read this interview with the mastermind behind the project, Jonas Hansson. And as promised by Jonas, there is something he wants to share with all of us in celebration of the win: The Marc Moreno and Gabriel Hyden part from 'Traitement' has just been made public and is waiting for you after the click!
Photographer Stephanie Barthelmess set up a little photo booth at the X-Mas Jam in Hamburg, Germany last year. These photos are further effort of ours to make it easier for you to decide wether or not you should be attending this year's event which is going to take place this weekend. As if it even needed consideration... there is absolutely no reason not to go. Enjoy the photos!
The Be-Mag production 'Traitement' by Jonas Hansson has been nominated for the Adventure Film Festival in Copenhagen, Denmark. The film will be competing with other adventure features like 'The Art of Flight', the most expensive Snowboard film ever produced, as well as the highly praised Mountain Biking piece 'LifeCycles', which also pushed production value for extreme sport flicks to new heights.
