Last December Michael Kraft and I, friends from Be-Mag’s msgboard, embarked on 'BuddyTour'. I brought a new tiny HD video camera to film an edit of our skate adventures, and Michael brought a new tiny laptop to write his thoughts on many aspects of his experience with the trip. What came of it was a twenty-minute edit accompanied by a lengthy essay with elements of drama, heartbreak, rollerblading history, and drunken shenanigans not to mention plenty of undocumented great times with various buddies of ours in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, and Tennessee.
David Sizemore has been "good" for some time now, but as you know being good doesn't always make you accepted amongst your peers. I don't think anyone can say just what "it" is that makes you accepted in our culture. Tightness of pants, choice of slang, style of hair, who you hang out with, what your elbow is doing when you land. Styles have changed so drastically since my days as a "youth", I don't really know what's acceptable these days.
HoHoHoes is the diamond in the rough of American skate contests. The exclusivity brought in professional skaters like Mark Wodja, Michael Braud, Dre Powell and Montre Livingston to name a few. There were southern legends who have not attended an event in years, like Josh Amacher, Garret Slobey etc. Large groups of skaters from 8+ states flew or drove to Atlanta in order to be in attendance... Click on the article to view all the pics and to find out more about what was going in Atlanta!
There are lots of people who have different names for this spot: The Black Hole, Day Waster, Day Ender... The list goes on. But to everyone who has been there, and lots that haven't, will forever know this place as Summerhour. This is a legendary spot in Norcross Georgia that has been in rollerblading videos for the last nine years. Just recently I heard that the school is under new ownership, and unlike the last, they don't like us being there. So, obviously, the rumor is that the whole place is going to get capped. When be-mag contacted me to do this edit, I knew I wanted to have at least one more good session there anyways before the massacre is to happen, so I thought it would be perfect. Thanks go out to Dustin Spengler for filming the whole thing and be-mag for asking me!
We've been saving footage for over a year and a half now and I haven't put out much besides contest edits in 2 years. Everyone wanted me to make something more recent of us, so I put out footage we all got in the past couple of weeks. look out for all the better things from everyone in this and more in our video DONT MATTA! featuring skating on Adam Ehalt, Brad Hughes, Michael Braud, Seth Lloyd, Phillip Deal, Daniel Henderson, and the rest of the entire south! -Seth Lloyd
Here is a cool edit featuring Atlanta shredder Richard Williams. The edit is a good promo for Rollerblade and calls for some more coverage of the TRS Flow rider.
Adam is one of my favorite bladers to watch and to film with. He is a rare breed that not only likes to think outside of the box at any given spot, but also likes to take suggestions about tricks to do. It is not uncommon, upon rolling up to a spot, to hear him say "Ok, tell me something tight to do here" and then marvel you after your proposal. Because of these reasons, Adam garners my upmost respect as he should from the rest of the blading community. Real talk. -Jamie Olmstead
Wojda, Bah, Sizemore, Breuer, Livingston & Braud all rippin' it up at this years HoHoHoes in Atlanta. Nothing out of the ordinary you say? Well, this time they're doin' it on horribly wet ground.
Featuring Cody Porche and David Sizemore at Progressive Skatepark, nice skating, check it out if you haven't seen it already.
Mr. Sethwatered is always coming up with fresh edits, so here is his newest edit, featuring skating from Georgia.
We were lucky enough to create this event with Carson Starnes starting last year and last year's competition got crazy. We wanted to make everything bigger and better this year. We have more prize money this year and we know our local organizer Carson has got some new stuff up his sleeve for next weekend's competition!
