Mirek Ragan... don't even try to put him into any categories! Born in 1982, he is one of these old cats that grew up rollerblading from day one. Hoax 1 and 2 changed his life and if you ever have the opportunity to visit him in his sweet appartement in Katowice, Poland you'll be able to notice that he has every single DVD/VHS ever produced in the rolling industry. Behind his blue eyes you can sense that he is thinking of Rollerblading 24/7 – not only from the perspective as the owner of Hedonskate, but also as a dedicated rollerblader! Mirek is and will always try to push the sport into the right direction. To sum it up: Mirek is a very positive, funny and handsome person always looking at the bright side of life!
The West Side Comp was the last competition of the Polish Rolling League before the grand finals which take place in October in Warshaw. Read more of what went down at Poznan's Island Skatepark that day! And don't miss the edit!
Lublin is a moderate-sized city in eastern Poland, a place you probably never heard of. But last week something notable happened. Yet another great get-together for Polish rollerbladers, the fourth edition of our annual competition called East Side Jam.
There are few bladers from Poland that are known internationally – Piotrek Combrzynski is one of them. Super humble and quiet as a person yet a beast as a rollerblader. As a teenager he polished his skills at many skateparks in Europe just to bring them to the street now and amaze us with his solid style, confidence and consistency. Piotrek is one of those people who makes session really fun and amusing, he will always come to you after you land anything and give you props! After a long brake in 2010 caused by the collar injury, Piotrek made a smooth come back with his Bristol edit (made by Canislatrans) and now, thanks to Be-mag, you will have a chance to get more insight into Piotrek's past, present and future!
On 26/03/2011, the fourth edition of Never Winter Jam competition has taken place at "Legnicka" skatepark in Wroclaw. This contest was the first (out of six consecutive contests in 2011 season) to open Triada Polish Rolling League 2011, the official polish Aggressive Inline Skating Championships!
Make sure you check out the final piece of the Hedonskate Silesia tour coverage. Even if you haven't watched the first 4 edits you should definitely check this one out. You might as well want to catch up with the previous ones. Piotrek, Nils, Prezemek. Do we need to say more?
Having a print publication to show off the sport to outsiders is as important to Blading as a page on the internet where everyone can get their daily dose of Rolling. Many people are contributing to Be-Mag each month to keep the project alive and make it the longest running source for Blading content in print and on the net. With the core team of Be-Mag doing it for the love – and all contributors also working for free – there are still costs that occur. Paying for the servers, programming cost, countless other things that result in a huge sum each month. Needless to say it costs a small fortune to print a large number of magazines and distribute it all over the globe.
