Our plan was to make some video updates for our time here in Cali, but with our little oldschool HD style camera it's hard to get to the standards. With help from Mike Tseng, who filmed second angles with his GoPro, we found some cool spots sometimes hidden from most street skaters over here, who use absurd amont of wax by the way.
Last year Jacob Juul won the Scandinavian Real Street Competition in Copenhagen. The first prize was a plane ticket to Cali and back. My mom works for Cimber Air and I fly cheap, so on a cold December morning at around 6, on our way home from the bar, we decided to go to Cali together for 2 months. I hit up my friend Greg in Long Beach and asked him if he could hook us up with a place to buy a car, and he did. We landed in LAX the 19th of January at 12 am and Greg was in the airport with his homie Robert, waiting for us...
The X-Mas Jam in Hamburg, Germany is an institution. It has existed for a long time and each year it draws a large international crowd of skaters to compete. Besides being internationally renowned it has become the official German Championships competition, making it the most important contest for this nation.
The Be-Mag production 'Traitement' by Jonas Hansson has been nominated for the Adventure Film Festival in Copenhagen, Denmark. The film will be competing with other adventure features like 'The Art of Flight', the most expensive Snowboard film ever produced, as well as the highly praised Mountain Biking piece 'LifeCycles', which also pushed production value for extreme sport flicks to new heights.
We had a good hour of session, and the sign-ins of skaters in the competition was finally over. The new spot at the SEB buildings was just as we expected it to be: great for rollerblading. The surface made of smooth concrete turning and tossing like a river down a lazy sloped hill, with the occasional curb to skate and a big two meter gap in the ending made it a rollerblading fantasy.
Traitement was filmed and edited by Jonas Hansson and features skating by Dominik Wagner, Robert Guerrero, Jacob Juul, Gabriel Hyden, Mathieu Heinemann, Anders Rishøj and Marc Moreno. This Be-Mag production was filmed in Paris, Copenhagen, Berlin, Chicago, Innsbruck, Barcelona and New York. The video is now available for download on Freestyle Culture!
Pony Cup 2011 was a great experience. A lot of really good bladers attended this year and the competition – in contrast to its rather small name – featured some seriously good skating by Jojo Jacobi, Alex Burston and Jacob Juul as well as an elite troop of young guns that were ripping the park to shreds in the junior competition!
These last years of portraying rollerblading has been a great gift of friends, adventures and learning. When you've been given such privileges as I had for this film, you want to give your very best. And I thank everyone involved for making this happen.
Tour dates and riders of GTK 2011 just got released. Be-Mag is a proud supporter and will provide full coverage of the tour in form of live-updates. The Gitanklan Tour – X-treme sports at its roots and the essence of our lifestyle.

Nothing can stop the Scandinavians from lacing some real bangers. Even the worst weather condition and some pretty though handrails. In the end an unbeatable Jacob Juul took the senior comp and can now call himself the Scandinavian Real Street Contest champion 2011. Congrats.
Check out this sweet edit of Mihai Militaru taking the second place at the Scandinavian Real Street Contest 2011.
There’s nothing like a street contest to bring a blade scene together with some friendly competition.
This year's RSC Stockholm competition was taken by Jacob Juul. The Danish powerhouse loves to grind handycap rails with high speed and doesn't fear to rock the big shit on drop rails. Have fun watching the edit.
All of these faces have been filmed at Winterclash in February 2011. These times, it was a less personal and more or less wider approach on who to film. Some friends, some strangers, some blading stars, some of my teenage heroes and some others. -Mark Heuss
