Blake Bird and Grif Kerry hosted the first skate competition in London for over 9 years. All the top UK riders turned out. It was a treat that bladers from over 10 years ago dusted their skates off and came for a roll including people like Imeon Hartwig, Charlie Lockyer, Taz, Sid, Jordan Murphy and Johnny Sabento.
I've never missed a Chaz Sands Invitational since they began, with them never failing to leave a great impression upon rollerblading. Truthfully this year I turned up with the half thought of "Will it match the last 4 years?" How wrong I could have been...
Check out this short edit featuring UK's finest Jamie Stenner, Elliot Stevens and Alex Burston.
"After winning the chosen-few.com 10 trick liner competition Michael asked me to do a "one minute - one spot" edit for the Be-Mag site, getting a good camera man ain't easy when you need one due to every one's work schedules - however, Kola came through for me, so me and my wife picked him and Welland up one Monday and hit up Henfeild on the way to Eastbourne's new park. It was a rare hot day and the park was empty so we got straight to it. I'm always nervous when filming as I don't do it on the regular and I know Kola gets down with all the dowgs... It came out all cool, hope you like it - enjoy!"
Dale Travers has been doing a lot to promote rolling in Australia and the UK for several years now. By holding Skatemeets on a regular basis he's been able to connect older and younger generations of rollers in a way that's laying a great foundation for the future of our sport. Enjoy Dale's report on what he's been up to! -B
This is the Jamie Stenner Music and Setup Session with a little special about the Chaz Sands Invitational. Read what this guy from Bognor Regis in England has got to say...
Having only half a day to shoot while visiting Portsmouth Jamie Stenner came through with some motivation and some good spots. After some warm-ups we hit this long triple kink that he had wanted to do for a while..
Six weeks ago Jamie Stenner dislocated his elbow. Although he was told by the doctors to chill and do physio for a total of around 12 weeks, Jamie couldn't wait any more - so when he was sent the New Dre Powel Pro boots he gave me a call and asked to shoot this little edit with him. Also featuring Andy Spary. -Sim Warren
So there was 8 of us. Myself, Jake Eley, Joe Atkinson, Julian Coulture, Sam Tuffnell, Keith Wisdom, Jamie Stenner and Jamie's wife Rikki. It was the AIL finals at Woodward West, combined with a further week of skating, whale watching, beaching and chillaxing. Now, this trip happened in November and I have no excuses as to why it's now the end of August 2011 and it's just coming out now. However, I finally got round to spending some time on this edit so that those who went and for those who didn't can see what happened at the AIL finals in woodward and a few extra bits. -Sim Warren
Yesterday, before the rain washed away the finale and caused a delay, three divisions came and conquered the 2011 LocoSkates.com Beach Jam. In the end, with a move in location, the contest was finished and all who came had the chance to showcase their talents. It truly was a battle making for an epic day of skating.
Uk Razors Flow Jamie Stenner and Ian Henrie stepped into the new Razors Horn Pro Skates. Sim Warren has caught them on tape while they were shredding this sweet weather-proofed skatepark.
Jamie Stenner tied the knot with his long term lady Rikki back in January and spent his honeymoon out in Australia. He managed to squeeze in some blading and got some shots with our man Dale Travers whilst he was there. Check it.
