After a successful year with events in Bremen, Leipzig, Bonn, and Wuppertal, the finals of Grindhouse Miniramp Masters 2011 took place on the 17th of December in Cologne, Germany. In the second year of its creation, the series was host to over 100 competitors. Skaters from all over the country attended and made the final event one to remember.
The Chosen Few Germany competition had a big turn out. We had right around 300+ people there and the competition was a success. Grindhouse was our premium sponsor for this competition. Thanks to them we had a pretty good cash prize for our top places. Chosen Few comps have a few twists that make the competition a little more difficult but also a little more rewarding.
The term "Rollschuhlaufen" is German and a minimization of Rollerblading, more oriented to the activity of recreational quad skating. If you're invited to go "Rollschuhlaufen", you know you're up to good times blading with the homies in a non-competitive manner. Not exactly dinky are the tricks Daniel Gourski, Eugen Enin, Jo Zenk and others attempted while filming for this video in Spain and Germany in 2010. The feel good vibe of "Rollschuhlaufen" is present throughout the whole thing though. Have a look!
When it comes to organizing some of blading's major events such as the 'European Half Pipe Championships, the Grindhouse Spine Masters, Winterclash, BCSD, or the Real Street comps there is a lot that goes on behind the scene to attribute to the comps success. There are always devoted people behind each event who work their asses off in order to keep the sport alive and bring in support year after year. These unnoticed heroes do it without any personal gain. Sometimes they even invest their own money simply for the audience, the industry, and the love of the sport.
Here we go with the official Halfpipe results and a first edit featuring the Dutch Rollerblade team on the Spine-Ramp in Berlin. Photos by: Pete Bender and Alex Stock
Filmed in October 2011. We started to enjoy meeting up at Münsters best known spot again, the yellow rails in the parking lot. With a dry ground and light all night, it is only choice to save us from goin to crappy indoor parks again. However it's a good choice. One evening Patrick Smith and I decided to film a few lines for a quick edit. This is what came out. Hope you enjoy it. -Jo Zenk
The German Miniramp Masters series recently had another stop in Wuppertal. The unknown Fedor Simonov took the crown. Congrats. PS: Make sure to pay special attention to the youngest kid in this edit 'Nils Rinas' starting his show at 0:52. Looks like another great talent.
Alex Stock from Spotlight Productions filmed and chopped this sweet edit of the german Miniramp Masters stop in Bonn.
