Ever since the first rolling videos hit the market in the early '90's, certain releases – such as 'The Hoax' and VG installments, or later published milestones like 'Coup de Tat' and 'Brain Fear Gone' – have changed not only the way people tend to look at and think about the specific scenes and rollerbladers portrayed, but also rolling culture itself. Even though I think it's too early to say what long term effect the release of GC.1 will have on the rolling world it undoubtedly has heightened my expectations regarding filming and video graphic techniques. Adding the extremely high production quality to the skills of one of the best teams in rollerblading yet, the math basically does itself. The Ground Control team video represents the passion and hard work Jon Elliott and his crew have put into their dream, resulting in one of the most spectacular videos to date.
Are you as excited about the new Ground Control video as we are? You probably should be. For over a decade Ground Control have been leading the pack in frame design and have become a staple in the rollerblading community. In order to commemorate the videos release we’ll be giving away three free copies in a prize raffle!
Here is a Razors podcast featuring the NYC Street Invite 2011 action. Edit by Phillip Long.
Usually ODNY wasn't suppose to cover this competition but a good friend was awesome enough to hook up the media pass. Immediately when looking at the obstacles, the NY Invitational sets it self apart from all other comps. Offering unique spots to skate like an old beat up Cadillac, constructions tubes, U-haul trailer, and a huge dumpster to name a few. Not to mention that this comp was very reminiscent of the old IMYTA competitions. The obstacles were all put together by the craftsmanship of Jose Disla & the C.O. team along with other NY locals that showed up the day of construction to support and offer a helping hand. New York owes such a great competition to the Bernal Heights Collective - a medicinal marijuana shop from San Francisco whom sponsored the events large prize.
This past week we were given the opportunity to go to Woodward West and have an official Razors Week in the mountains of Tehachapi, California. During the week Dre Powell, Julian Bah, Rachard Johnson, Erik Rodriguez and myself were all able to be in attendance. For many years the name “Woodward” has been associated with great skate parks and a summer destination for extreme athlete enthusiasts. Growing up I never had the opportunity to experience the camp aspect of Woodward, it was not until I turned pro that I was able to visit the facility and enjoy everything they had to offer.
Simon Mulvaney just posted up his view on the Winterclash 2011. This edit not only features some badass skating, but also gives you an impression of how busy the skatepark was during the two days of Winterclash! Don't hesitate, click the play button.

Here is a first edit and a first review of the contest. Read on.
On the eve of this year's Last Man Standing, the Razors team, along with many other rollerbladers, headed to Tri State Skate in Hillburn, NY to session Drop In Skate Park. Just another perfect way to continue this weekend of crazy blading here on the East Coast. We sent Ryan Loewy out to document the night and this is what he got.
Well, the dust has settled, tricks have been laid down and prize money has been collected. While we get all of our strings back in tune, Ryan Loewy has come through with some more photographs of the SDSF Open and Steve Henry with a recap of the ev...

Every frame has a story to tell. Every scratch is a letter, every chip a flare of creativity, every mark a test of endurance, every groove a path of accomplishment. Every ramp, every rail, every fall, every cheer, every journey. Every trick you land and every trick you don't, carved into a layer of plastic, concealed beneath our feet. Every frame has a story to tell. This is ours.
Over the weekend of November 4-5, the We Are One Skatepark team riders went out to Woodward West for the 2011 AIL World Championships. They were mobbin' deep with Justin Mousley, Tad Tregeagle, Jon Easy, Tony Rivituso, Chris Napoleon, Richie Rodriguez, Mat Farnworth, and Zach Nelson. This was their experience out at Woodward West and as per usual they were stomping every feature at the park. Enjoy watching this edit and keep you eyes open for a new We Are One riders section, coming soon.
If you think Julian, Dre, and Aragon hit up the Big Apple just to make an appearance at Billy’s NYC Street Invitational then you are sadly mistaken. They got down on some street skating (of course, I mean come on, son. This is New York City) as well as a trip to Drop-In Skatepark, Maloof, and Pier 62. You know how the Razors squad rolls so before viewing this video why don’t you go slip into something a little more comfortable, drop the lights down real low, fill a healthy glass with the finest of malt liquors you can get your hands on, and hit play. Remember, we are not responsible for what goes on after you watch this. Side effects may include accelerated heart rate, excessive head nodding, an urge to shred some gnar, and the ending of a relationship due to your choice of skating at this very moment over the companionship of your girlfriend. Good luck and enjoy.
Get ready for another high quality edit from the guys at razors! Brian Aragon, Julian Bah, Dre Powell, Rachard Johnson, Erick Rodriguez and Rick Rodriguez are holding it down at Woodward West!
