Some issues ago we released a special AM issue in which Mark amongst some others has been promoted as one of the upcoming talents in Rollerblading. We decided to feature Mark since he pushed the envelope hard in rolling and definitely deserved the recognition. Looking back on Mark's young skating career there are quite a few milestones to identify: His AM interview in Issue 30, his profile in the ONE-Video and as of lately the first place at the Last Man Standing. It looks like we knew it, Mark would get up on the skate podium since in the current issue we featured Mark again with a big interview. Take a sneak peek at the interview here.

This weekend hosted the annual 2011 Last Man Standing competition in New York City and showed the world that rolling’s undying thirst to bring bladers together could not be stopped by even mother nature and the worst she could throw. Several weeks ago New York City, along with the rest of the eastern seaboard of the United States, was pounded by Hurricane Irene. As if that wasn’t enough, in the wake of all damages caused a tropical storm soon followed up and added to the destruction. The Last Man Standing event was supposed to take place over the weekend following Billy O’Neil’s New York City Street Invitational. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances with the condition of New York City at the time the event was postponed indefinitely. Lucky for us and the spirit of rolling LMS was rescheduled for this weekend and only several hours ago it all went down, burly as usual, and Staten Island’s own Franco Cammayo represented his local scene and took first place.
Crash test at the Winterclash? Five people standing around a bowl, drinking a cup of beer, who finishes first, drops in first… Five people inside a bowl at the same time and the winner is the “Last Man Standing”. This game got invented by the guys behind the IMYTA+ and the rest of the Amsterdam locals in 2006 and we are proud continuing with it in 2011. The “X-mini Last Man Standing” will definitely be one of the highlights at this year’s Winterclash and for sure an unforgettable side event for everybody.
